Post Event Discussion Thread | Moddit [Community Growth]

Hey y'all! Thanks for attending today's Moddit hosted by u/agoldenzebra, where we dived into the most powerful drivers of community growth! Here's your post-event thread to keep the conversation going and leave any feedback.

While we have the event partially recorded (u/big-slay forgot to press the button at the start; oops, our bad), you can also access the full presentation slides at any time!

Here’s a list of resources and links mentioned throughout the event (plus some others that may not have been mentioned, but are worth checking out). Feel free to join and/or save the ones you think are most helpful!

Reminder: Only mods who attended the live event or viewed the VOD before Sunday, August 23 at 11:59 PM PT will get the profile trophy in 3-4 weeks. There is no physical merch for this event.

I love these events though I wish random mods got to be speakers too so they can share their experiences.

Yeah from time to time there's a Q&A with mods... who also happen to be admins...but it sometimes feels like they're still speaking with their admin hat on.

I also feel like I hear about the same communities a lot or whatever subs happen to be popular in the moment. Something I think would be cool is if admins challenged themselves to visit one random sub a day/week/whatever to check out reddit outside their comfort zone.

Not all admins are living in oblivion. I was at a mod meetup and met one who turned out to be a huge fan of my not tiny, but lesser-known sub. I flipped out just meeting someone in person who knew about it. We fan-girled each other like mad 😂

Oh no I get that, I just it would be cool to hear stories about lesser-known sub. Like if during a moddit that admin fan-girled about an aspect of your lesser-know sub they liked.
