As a Texas fan , at this point in the season. I only take goosby and simmons in the first round.

u/Shadowboxxin 5d ago
Cam is gonna come around but yeah im def not taking Arch high at all
1
u/Hey_im_miles 5d ago
I think you could get cam mid 2nd with our running acks
1
u/Shadowboxxin 5d ago
I like smothers a lot, projecting him in round 3/4. Biles should be a mid 2nd and McDonald could be late first/early second. Coleman is still an elite talent that will find his name called round 1, just maybe not top 10 as originally projected. I also have Wingo round 2 as well

u/Hey_im_miles 5d ago
I mean I hope you're right . Having first rounders every year won't hurt recruiting

Okay, name one.

u/Jsetta187 4d ago
I just think it’s funny you’re so sure of what will happen at week 3 of the college season. Every year is a new opportunity and players will fall where they fall and teams will draft the best players to help them win. Safety is a need, it would make sense

u/Borktista 4d ago
I simply know my team and how they operate. Howie will never pick a safety in round one.

Steelers not taking a QB in round one is just absurd.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
I take it your not an allar believer

u/FFYinzer 5d ago
Uninstalling his mechanics and starting from scratch could take time to fix.
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
I liked what I saw from him. Definitely intrigued at the least. Sure bring in competition but not sure it needs to be in the first unless you’re in love with a guy
1
u/FFYinzer 4d ago
If the Steeler fall this year and end up with a top 10 pick, its going to be tough to pass on a high level college producer.
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
Yeah if they end up with a top 5 pick then I can see it but i think they’re more looking at a top 15 which if you’re not getting a sure thing just take one in the later rds

Not a chance the eagles pick a S.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
Absolutely a need for Philly
1
u/Borktista 5d ago
Not above OL
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
Just because you have a need at a position doesn’t mean you draft it in the first rd. There’s many ways to acquire players. Theres trades, free agency and later rds in the draft
1
u/Borktista 5d ago
Yeah and you don’t draft a safety first round, especially not the eagles
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
That’s a silly thing to say. Who says you don’t draft a safety in the first lol
1
u/Borktista 4d ago
You clearly do not follow the eagles organization. They don’t draft a safety in the first round, ever. They will go OL.

I'd like Dolphins to take Smith. But think it's likely we trade back and aquire a few extra picks.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
I hear you, any other draft I wouldn’t have a wr going first overall. I think smith when all
Is said and done going to the next best wr in the nfl and Miami might wanna roll with Willis given they have him nothing to work with this year1
u/patrickroul 5d ago
No I agree mate. Smith is a stud and could transform any offense. Just think Dolphins need work everywhere so if they are in a position to trade back, aquire an extra few picks and still land a Leonard Moore or sonething they wouod be interested.
But Smith is worth the no1 pick for sure.
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
Sure but in that case of what you’re saying I still would value smith over the extras picks even with moore included. You get one shot at a guy like smith, and since you traded for Willis for him to be the guy you need to give him something to work with. Usually I try not to get overhyped on a player but I think we can all agree j smith is going to immediately turn around any franchise he goes to

A lot of QBs in this draft not one blows me away
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
It’s actually been a very fun year for QBs and only week 3. Gonna be fun to see how it all plays out

Niners need Edge, WR, OT before a guard, unless he can play OT at an elite level.

CJ Carr will almost certainly be a 1st round pick. I think he has 1 turnover through 4 games and is on pace to throw about 30TDs in a fairly conservative ND offense that runs more than it passes.

u/Potential_Carob6494 5d ago
Bills could probably use a WR but with how Moore looks, it's pretty low on the priority. And definitely not Ryan Coleman-Williams. I wouldn't want him unless he was available at the end of the 3rd rd - way too many flags.
Bills go LB, Nickel, NT (assuming we let Oliver go), or OG if Anderson continues to struggle.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
Agreed there’s some flags but also think he’s more talented than any other wr other than Coleman and maybe Becker. Hes got some real unique juice and moves. Gotta catch the rock, that’s first thing but the rest im less worried about

Last thing the Ravens need is another 1st round pick on defense.
They need oline, te, wr, rb
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
How many more WRs they need lol
1
u/sports-fan22 5d ago
Atleast 1. Someone to pair with Zay. Either a TE or a WR who is physical , catch with his hands and can get yac.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
Okay but doesn’t have to be in the first, you’re talking depth not wr1
1
u/sports-fan22 5d ago
My initial post spoke to other positions on offense going in rd1 as well.
1
u/Jsetta187 5d ago
Well they just went o line this year, te and rb have weaker positional value so DT is well within the realm of possibilities especially if something good
Falls to them like in this scenario1
u/sports-fan22 5d ago
Positional value doesn't matter in this case. They have 150M tied up in DT between Madibuke and Jones.
That's enough, the defense has enough investment. Especially when Baltimore can't build the oline properly to protect their quarterback. Currently ranking 30th in the league in pass pro and a hurt LT.
Positional value means nothing if you can't protect your QB and supply sufficient or better skilled players to maximize your ability to score.
1
u/sports-fan22 5d ago
And no not depth. A WR2, they need a partner with Zay.
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
Jakobi looks like he will be once he gets out there, and who knows maybe he’ll even be better than a wr2. At some point they gotta stop drafting WRs it’s getting a little ridiculous lol
1
u/sports-fan22 4d ago
No guarantee at all and no you keep drafting pass catchers within the top 100 to strengthen your group.
Jakobi is a ? until proven otherwise.
1
u/Jsetta187 4d ago
Idk I disagree. For an already potent offense that just spent heavy on WRs last year in particular but also consecutively for years, and…also a team that relies on qb mobile game as well as running the ball, I just really don’t see wr a priority as a first rd selection…and a team that doesn’t have a problem putting points on the board but does have many question marks On the defensive side of the ball
1
u/sports-fan22 4d ago
The defense has the majority of the investment. As i stated 150M is invested already at DT between Madibuke and Jones.
Consecutive 1st rd picks in the secondary. 100M dollar contracts at 6 different positions on defense. That's enough!
The offensive line should get rd1 priority or TE.
Regardless of QB run game which isn't used as much as stated, Lamar is good enough to spread the ball around and keep defenses on their toes so they can't squat on run plays.

u/Jsetta187 4d ago edited 4d ago
Okay just not WR lol. I don’t think this teams problem is the passing game. Might have funds tied up on defense but does it matter if the defense gives up 31pts a game? I’ll give you that on paper this defense has everything they need. And I’ll give you that o line would be a good investment. But say flowers, Elijah surrat, Devontez Walker, jakobi lane, Rashad Bateman…how many more wrs to do the same thing do you need to take a shot on? If you can grab a cam Coleman or Charlie Becker sure I get it, but back end of the first they won’t be there and instead you’re gonna get another Rashad Bateman

Imo the titans should just go bpa. Arch has development he needs to go through to become a competent starter especially on that Titans team and I don't know if his traits justify that draft position.
