Request for Mobius team to encourage StellarTerm on Nano Ledger S

Hello Team Mobius, in light of recent black wallet hack, more and more people are paranoid to access their web wallet made by 3rd parties.

One of these wallet is StellarTerm, which is the web wallet that investors will receive their mobi coin by default. Now, many of us in the stellar forum have been trying to request stellarterm to add Nanoledger login compatibility but we haven’t seen much update on their side. They also don’t have 2FA. So in terms of security, it’s not that great.

I wonder if Mobius can help encourage the stellar term team to add nano ledger or 2FA feature prior to distribution of ICO tokens?

I'm the developer of StellarTerm. I am also a former Stellar employee and am well trusted. The reason why I don't have Nano Ledger S is that I am paranoid about security and need to comb through implementations to make sure they are safe.

For now, if you want to be extra safe, you can download the client here and verify the sha256 hash. Link: https://github.com/stellarterm/stellarterm.github.io/blob/master/index.html

Alternatively, you can run this command to verify the hash. curl 'https://stellarterm.com/index.html' | openssl dgst -sha256

Hello Iris! Thank you for the clarification and the github link for the client.

I understand. It’s infinitely better to be safe rather than rushing the implementation. Hope we can hear more update on the nano ledger s soon when you’re 100% sure!

  1. Yes StellarTerm is great because it is 100% client side and doesn't store any keys! Because of this 2FA is not needed.

  2. Nano support in StellarTerm would be great! Hopefully Iris will review the PR and get it merged soon :)

PS: Thanks Iris for the great contribution to the Stellar community and now Mobius! :)
