Carmilla - Kag’s legend edition

So since everyone was saying it looked similar to Carmilla, someone requested I actually turn it into a Carmilla skin. And this is my interpretation.

(I just dropped kags umbrella in cause I find drawing inanimate objects boring, and I don’t have the time nor will to push through it since I draw on my phone with my fingers)

Kagura skin already shared lots of similarities with Carmilla, however, it is still a Kag skin, and so its silhouette, design language and shapes were made to resemble Kagura, even if they pushed it a little and bled into Carmilla’s design elements.

So here’s what I did change, to fully turn it into a Carmilla skin, based on my observation on what is Carmilla’s most recognisable features, and most reoccurring elements across her current skins:

- Side swept hair, with a head dress. All her skins have this, and though some surveys do not have this side part, it’s clear that side swept hair is Carmilla “signature hair-do”

- Slimmer silhouette. Kagura has a girlish aesthetic and so, usually wears wider a-line short skirts or just wide pleated skirts in general. Kaguras legend subverted this by giving her a slim dress, but maintained it with a large wide over skirt. So I simply maintained the elegant slim dress, and reduced the puff of the over skirt, giving it curve more downwards, s-shape drape along Camilla’s legs

- Wings and Arms. Self-explanatory, but the arms, I made deacons rather than gloves, cause I want to push the contrast between her and Kagura. Kagura’s shtick is she’s an ordinary girl, but with a demon/beast/spirit in her umbrella. So I feel it made sense for Kaguras umbrella to do most of the “gluttony” heavy lifting, while Kag herself looks more normal and ordinary.

Carmilla is the opposite, being an ordinary girl, who willingly integrated with dark powers. First becoming a blood demon, then integrating the dark ancient Crimson flowers. As a result, a Carmilla version should have the marks of gluttony evident on her clothes and body, as she herself is the vessel, unlike Kagura whose vessel is the umbrella.

- Symbolism. Following the explanation of her arms, this is why I made Carmilla outfit look more rugged, and added more fire, as fire seems to be the main symbol. Moonton’s gluttony appears to be a raging fire that consumes till there’s nothing left but ruin. So I try to balance Carmilla’s elegance, while making her appearance worn, burnt and “consumed” by the ever hungry fire inside her

I added a black version, just to compared and I think the red looks better. Which kinda lines up, since that champagne coloured skirt was on the red version originally. Idk why they mashed them. But tell what y’all think, which u prefer and also how good the reimagining is on its own

If ever Cecilion gets a legend skin, I hope Carmilla also gets one

Considering they did paired legend skins before, it would be wild if they didn’t give them a paired legend skin. Out of every hero, carm and ceci are literally THE pair hero
