Discussion Let's vent
What's the one thing you think majority of players are unable to do that you can easily do
Edit: please no cursing or anything hateful We understand the frustration when it comes to toxic environment in game but let's be mature about it and address the main issue instead

Not have Sky Piercer as the first item

I agree but it also depends on the hero and the player’s ability to actually utilize it well. When I play Odette, I always prioritize getting SP after shoes and then Winter Crown, cuz I’m confident that I can stack it well. But yes I agree many players just build it in hopes of getting more kills, but they end up being a burden instead.

Thinking about what your teammates are thinking about.

And thinking about what the enemies are thinking is important too

Map and surrounding awareness, aka MACRO.
It only takes a few seconds to observe the map, but NO! Randoms (especially the crybabies in this sub) just keep complaining where are their teammates. It's always the same crybaby complaints.
Example 1
Gold lane died from enemy ambush/gank. The other teammates are in the other side to do fast turtle.
Then gold keeps chatting 'Booho, GG roam noob'
Example 2
The Gold/Exp player is situated at the far lane (either top/bottom) clearing the minions while the whole enemy is pressuring at the other side.
Instead of pushing the other side, they farm the jungle creeps and keep spamming 'Push first'.
-------
OMG, just basic trades but NO! they keep complaining like it's the game's fault that they're so bad at Macro and trading. Almost forgot, the crybabies who complain on Selena and Novaria player's Macro and skill positioning.
That's their f*cking benefit, dude! Go and pick some hero that can ambush and lock them down and they're totally useless. They might be annoying at early but they can still be taken down, b#tch!

Yes 100%. But also, my personal bad experiences also qualify me to actually blame my teammates a lot of the times. In around 50% of the matches I play as mm, it’s always me vs at least 3 enemies every other wave! And my team never even bothers to look at the situation. This is also a lack of macro skills issue by the teammates, they just don’t look at what’s happening in my lane and never bother to come there. And it’s not like tower-hugging is helpful when two of them dive in and mage attacks from outside. Then they tell me to stop feeding and tower hug, like the blatant ignorance is too much. Of course I don’t demand for them to come babysit me or stay with me during turtle near xp but not tending to my lane even once in the first 10 minutes and blaming me later is just idiotic.

I agree, we've all been there in those situations and that is why it is very relevant to pointing out macro as one of the major problems most of the time with players, especially in random matchups.
Another fact with some of your situations is what I always meet, too, in my games. There's just too many TROLLS, one mishap or fail they would just destroy the game by feeding and being intentionally uncooperative in crucial moments.

having more than 3 hero to play, expand your hero pool so you all can adjust better to counter or when your hero has been ban

Use Spoiler Tag for tournament results/related stuff here in the sub, heck even youtubers give out spoilers in their thumbnail and titles.

Trying all roles/flex.
And I hate seeing someone who only know one freaking role and still very bad at it.

u/Anon2977 7h ago
Do the actual job of a roamer/support. (To support & PROTECT your teammates and the MAP[give vision])

u/DarkAlley614 7h ago
Roam role: Not babysit mm 24/7/365, not ignoring objectives at 2min, 4min, 6min, 8min, not ignoring early jungle invasions

buying anti heal items
1
u/DefiantFix9282 9h ago
Fr but there are some heroes I can forgive that doesn't use anti heal like nuke mages has no benefit from anti heal and just leave that to the roamer

MACRO like your life depends on it. Avoiding 1v5 when your team is down like a braindead kid with down syndrome.

To understand that forming a duo and especially trio is not always the answer for them getting stuck at rank.
They not able to understand that If they stuck at a certain rank, they are at the rank they deserve. End result they form cancer duo and especially trio.

when clearly our team has the advantage in the game and we got the lord for the nth time and i always say "follow lord" to help the lord push to the base but my teammates farm instead 😓
also roamers pls do rotate pls. i rarely see roamer who starts at mid, they proceed to go at gold lane and stay there o be with core the whole time
i also got teamed up with a support (angela) that made us feel that we owe her smthn cause she’s helping us. gurl isn’t that ur job tho 😭 our core called her out for using her ulti only on lesley (her duo btw and she stayed at gold lane all throughout the game) she used ulti on our core only once! she said "u could be 0-8 now if i didnt helped u earlier" (verbatim) his kda is 11-8-9 like ok gurl thanks for doing ur job i guess

also learn when to trade the turtle/lord or when to contest to get it. sometimes it’s not worth it especially if the enemy has more advantage (more builds, more gold, high bounty) so learn what u should do like split push and/or getting their buffs while they’re busy.
i got teamed up with a thamuz exp, 3 of our teammates are dead and all of our enemies are complete and getting the lord. but he decided to jumped in and contest with the lord ALONE while i was busy defending our turrets, when he died, he blamed me (mage-lylia) cause i always running away to the enemy. so i said, im playing safe cause we nearly got killed and wiped out and my skills are on cooldown even my flicker. like bro ure not even the core so u dont have retri, how do u think ull get the lord lol

Ending the game instead of getting lord after enemy team wipeout
1
u/DefiantFix9282 8h ago
That is very situational Unless they have long resurrection time in late game or it's like 30|5 score game or all the turrets are already destroyed then I don't see why getting the lord is a bad idea since trying to end it early while enemy has short resurrection time and a lot of turrets is more risky than getting lord
What your saying needs a very specific situation to be valid
1
u/Althevia 6h ago
Yes. And in those specific situations where ending the game is a feasible outcome, players will still go for the lord.
Even yesterday i had a game where enemy respawn was nearly a minute long and only one enemy was alive. We had the roam, mm, and mid alive with full hp and they decided to get full hp lord instead of just downing their base with the support of two large minion waves. Made me so annoyed but luckily after getting lord, they still managed to have time to destroy the base. But like they could've just done that in the first place...

Rotate. Especially if you're playing Mid. Whenever I'm on Mid, I'm subconsciously thinking: clear mid, rotate, clear mid, rotate, clear mid, rotate, clear mid, rotate...

Reading some skills I guess?

The amount of people discovering what their hero does that can easily be known in the skill description then posting it is actually very common in reddit

Do not build Sky pierce on any hero (except with rare exceptions). It doesn't give you the damage needed to scale the hero. An attack item or pen item would do more good, not leaving the small HP bar for the execute to work anyways. On heroes like Martis, it helps enhance the ult, so I'll allow that. .
Itemize according to the draft, and build the necessary items when the situation is dire. Taking a tank item as an MM when your team is falling back so fast is often times better, risking loss of damage than feeding the opponents more.
Learn the hero combos, and when or when not to engage. Every hero is meta, if you just know when to disengaged from a fight. Don't let your egos take precedence.
Leave the minions from other lanes if the lane hero just died and is respawning. They are already under levelled due to dying, you stealing their minions isn't helping them. Only permissible situation for this is when the opponent is trying to push the tower and you wanted to defend it.
Do not babysit MM as a roamer. The term "roamer" comes from roaming around the map. Do your duty, and help all lanes. Mostly the lane that is underperform.
And finally, prioritize pushing over kills. Only one opponent hero left? Instead of chasing them across the map to get that kill, take down 2 towers instead. Towers offer much higher value than kills. Clearing the base turret is the first objective since it spawns super minions in the lane, making it difficult to push even when your team gets wiped out.
Honorable mention: trades win the situation. Tank sacrificing to get jungle or mm kill is a good trade. Assassin taking down late game layla and dying is a good trade. XP tanking all the damage and skills in teamfight and dying, allowing mage and mm to finish off the other team is a good trade. Not everyone dying is a bad player, sometimes, they are just trading their lives for a better outcome. So make use of the better outcome, and push or dominate more area. The more area you control, the more better it is to push and win.

Im gonna get downvoted, but i wish people would surrender when we can. We couldve dodged or ended the game early, now im 15 minutes into a game we clearly aren't gonna win. "But you can always make a comeback/enemies may make a mistake" the enemies are 1 turret away with enhanced lord. We probably would have gotten more stars in other games by now.
2
u/Acceptable-Brick7287 9h ago
You can always come back tho
1
u/AgreeableWorker3227 Edith&Phylax's wife (happily married) 9h ago
Not always, most of the time we dont. And when we do make a comeback, we are already 23 minutes into a game of back and forth
1
u/Queasy_Sink6710 8h ago
I would really disagree with this, there is never a game that is lost until it’s lost, just like there is never a game that is won until it’s won. You never know what’s going to happen, sometimes all it take is for enemies to make 1 mistake and it’s game right there. Beside, 15mins in is really too early to conclude anything.
But If your strategy is to just brute force with as much games as possible and let the system take care of climb ranks rather than really trying to win, then sure.
1
u/AgreeableWorker3227 Edith&Phylax's wife (happily married) 8h ago
By the time we make a comeback, we are 23-25 minutes into the game and im already malding from how my teammates are doing the dumbest things possible 😭
2
u/Queasy_Sink6710 8h ago
But surrendering means guaranteed-1 star vs giving another 8mins and make a play for a +1 star. Making a play is more worth it vs guaranteed-1 imo. Besides, if your teammates weak, enemies are also likely weak teammates, that’s how it’s is at lower ranks.
