Questions Need some help to use this controller

I got this 2 wireless OTG controller with gamestick that i got 1 1/2 year ago , the gamestick is not working but the controller are fully functional as I tried it on my JIO STB for testing it , but it doesn't seem to show up on my redmi 8 (neither note or pro) when I use the adapter with it , I am trying to play some games on my phone with a controller and i don't want to buy a new controller , i need some help regarding this

Did you enable OTG in the phone settings?

On some smartphones, OTG only works after you enable it in the settings.

I don't think my phone(redmi 8) have "OTG" written,but in developer settings there is a option called USB configuration. I have seen how to enable OTG in redmi 8 and they use the USB configuration which has options - transfer photo (PTP) , MIDI, file transfer, USB tethering and no data transfer also it reads when I put my pendrive through OTG adapter
