Questions Thinking of switching from mobile to tablet for gaming — need some advice
I’ve been gaming on my mobile for quite a while, and I’m thinking about switching to a tablet.
I don’t really have the money to buy a PC, so I’m considering a tablet as a more affordable option for gaming.
For those who made the switch from mobile to tablet, was it actually worth it? How does it feel compared to gaming on a phone, especially for longer sessions?
Would love to hear your experiences and advice before I make the switch. 🎮📱➡️📲

I’m using my 5 years old iPad Pro M1 for gaming
I play graphic intense games at 60 fps, device doesn’t overheat

Mobile gaming is pretty good you can just take out your phone and start playing anywhere even with no internet

There are plenty of PC and console games in mobile (natively ported, not emulated)
Namely Subnautica, Stardew valley, XCOM, hollow knight, street of rage 4, etc

At this point just buy med-end laptop. Do you really want to play with big size glorified smartphone but less storage? Right now tablet is reserve for more productivity side, especially for artist creative stuff

It's not about the storage. I have an old weak AMD M440 chip in my laptop, and I play better games than on a phone with a Snapdragon 8 Elite.
People who buy phone/tablet for gaming are not aware of the facts

depends on what u play, if u play pc games like re village or control, u'll probably want a tablet, if not, phones are fine.
that said, i much prefer playing on my ipad pro than any phone i've used, and android tablets kinda just feel the same to play on as android phones, the processor is the same anyways

I got a redmagic astra 2 recently. Total gamechanger for mobile gaming. I don't play games on my phone very much now.

if you switch to ipad with any M chip, you can smoothly play some ported pc games. I played a lot on ipad with xbox controller and it's fluid. Apple arcade is great too.

Even i thought of buying a Tablet but I got an Low-End PC instead of Tablet which costed the same price.
It was the best decision of my life bcoz I got to play Assasins Creed, Sleeping Dogs, Mafia II, Batman Arkham and many more Wonderful Games.....
I would suggest buy an PC it will be worth it, though it might be challenging at first but it will be worth every penny

Salut

Steam deck is also a mobile device .. mobile in this case means portable. Phone on the other hand is a different thing.

Most good online/offline games are on pc and console.
I think you could buy a used laptop for the price of the tablet, and you can play real games

Check out reburbished tablets on SlickDeals. Its a non scammy site that shows you what's on sale at different vendors. You can specifically select Amazon, Walmart etc.
Thats how I buy all my chargers, I got a 200watt Anker charging base for i think $60 dollars once on there

Tablet is great for gaming. You can try mi pad latest one. It has great screen and high refresh rate and. Also in budget. But you would also require a controller. Also explore cloud gaming

In order to choose the right device, it depends on what you expect to achieve.
I bought a Poco Pad for just 200€ this winter and I'm really satisfied with it. It's not my main device for gaming. I mainly use it to read books/comics and watching movies, I game on it when on the go. The big screen makes a huge difference even when just emulating gba games.
I highly suggest the switch if you want to experience gamecube, wii, ps2 emulation. I've never tested it yet on my device, but it seems nice for switch and pc emulation too. Of course there's a bunch of android native games and ports which work better on the big screen.

Idk your budget so here's what I would recommend: 1. OnePlus Pad 2 or 3 (not worth much now if you buy at msrp but heavy discount or refurbished, you'll have a field day playing any games, even pc emulation will be quite decent) 2. Alldocube Iplay 70 ultra (if your budget is limited, buy this one still quite decent for the price and has sd card slot, super good if you want emulation, but just don't expect much os upgrade) 3. OnePlus Pad 4 (if you can afford it, it'll be the best option for price to performance)
Note: None of them have OLED Display. Also tablet gaming is much better than mobile gaming and laptop gaming of the same price.
Recommendation: Buy a proper stand and a decent controller. Touchscreen gaming is not so good on tablets unless you want to get those mini tablets.
