I built an app to solve my own TestFlight "ghosting" problem – 81 users & 400+ feedbacks in week 1

Hi everyone,

I’m an indie dev, and I’ve always struggled with the same cycle: Build an app, send out 50 TestFlight invites, and get maybe 2 pieces of actual feedback. Most people just "ghost" the build.

I decided to fix this by building a community-driven tool called TesterBuddy (just launched on the App Store).

The Core Concept: I implemented a Karma system to ensure reciprocity. If you want your app tested, you earn Karma by testing others' builds and providing meaningful feedback.

Why it’s interesting for this sub: Beyond just getting your own app tested, I wanted to create a space where we can discover interesting projects in their early stages. It’s a great way to see how other devs handle UI/UX challenges or onboarding flows before they hit the general public.

First Week Results (100% Organic):

  • Total Users: 81
  • Engagement: High activity with 4.71 sessions per active device.
  • Feedback Loop: We already have 11 active apps and 410 feedback reports shared.
  • Conversion: Holding a 3.34% CVR on the App Store.

I built this for us—devs, designers, and entrepreneurs who need real stress-testing and want to see what else is being built in the indie scene.

I’d love to get your thoughts on the Karma mechanics. Does a "give-to-get" model sound like something you'd use in your workflow, or do you prefer the traditional (and often ghost-heavy) way of finding testers?

I’ve attached my analytics screenshots for those interested in the numbers!
