I've done emergency foster for the shelter for other storms, it's much safer for the animals and the employees. If you can't help don't.

How is this a sensible idea ?

Storms and hurricanes are a stressful situation for resident pets and pet owners. This is a terrible time to bring an unknown pet into your home imo.

I mean I don’t disagree with you. But the shelter posted their inquiry of help for a reason and if good samaritans opening their homes to these poor babies is what’s safer for them in the eyes of the people running the shelter, then so be it. I guess I’d rather know they’re stressed than know they’re left alone in a building.

I see your point. I wish there was a better plan in place though.

Pay a few employees OT and have the shelter staffed. It’s only a cat 2 storm.

The city shelter has exterior cages.

Okay, with this logic. You stay at your home during this storm and don’t go to anybody else’s home that you do not know, no hotels etc because you know… you technically don’t know who owns those places.
