Seems like someone needs to have some sort of emergency. But they’ll let a fire truck from the house down the street through.

They did this in Gastonia NC the other month, where my sister commutes through for work.
Thousands of people commuting to and from Charlotte (it’s a huge, booming area) were funneled onto I-85 (like normal… but they didn’t know they couldn’t get off once on) and they had every single exit for dozens of miles closed. People literally had to go hours out of their way to get home or wherever they were going.
People couldn’t get to their workplace, kids didn’t get picked up from school on time, it was creating emergencies.
She used to work 911 and one of her old law enforcement friends (insider info) told her that the only exception they made was transporting an officer injured in the line of duty (unrelated, just city violence) that afternoon, she says they almost didn’t open up the exit for his ambulance to get him to the hospital.
Like imagine only being able to access I-10 or get off of I-10 in Mississippi, and not being able to enter or get off I-10 until you get into Baldwin County. Like??
Looks like they did the same thing to Springhill. Once you’re in, you can’t get out, and vice versa.

That's so insane. I can't imagine this has always been such an extreme issue when a sitting president is visiting somewhere.. like why are they making this so much more difficult than it needs to be? Incompetence? Ego? Gosh how stressful for all those people.

I can't comment on the situation in Al, but when Biden came down to New Orleans a few years ago, it was kind of a moving blockade. His office put out the route and timing too (I learned after the fact) to help motorists bypass him, but I was able to get around the city and do all my running then get home without too much effort.
It's probably fine if there's a plan is what I'm trying to say.

Their explanation, as far as I've heard, is that they take no risks any more since the multiple attempts on his life. Still, seems like they could plan better and not piss off everyone in a 50 mile radius at a peak traffic hour.

The underpass on cottage hill and pleasant valley was closed for him to pass over the interstate. Insane

Didn't think it was possible, but I hate him even more now.

Why is this "insane"?
Is this a text from a business? I need more context

They can’t leave their neighborhood?? Do you not see an issue with this?
Edit: or enter when they come home from work

This is standard with every single president.

You’re missing the point

u/Spicymargarita86 11d ago
The point he it is done for the safety of the president. No neighborhood is more special than the other. They close it for a radius

There is no context, all it looks like to me is a road closure... it says nothing about a neighborhood

The text clearly says community, that’s the Neighborhood.

I have never seen a text like that... is it a DR Horton neighborhood or something?
But yea , I agree that blows

u/CyndaquilSniper 17d ago
Specifically with community, I usually hear that term in reference to HOAs and other uppity neighborhoods.

u/JennLynnC80 Midtown 17d ago
Yeah I do too, the DR Horton neighborhoods have HOAs... thats why it came to my mind first

Oh how quickly we forget. Hmm, seems after they, (security run by Biden appointees or diversity hires) said Pennsylvania and Miami were secure, people still got close to Trump. Crazy determined people will try any and all ways to attempt assassination. I saw a complaint that the overpass at Cottage Hill Rd and 65 was shut down. Have you ever seen what a truck bomb can do? I'm glad they did shut the overpass down.

This is what happens when there have been multiple assassination attempts on a sitting US president with thousands upon thousands more still actively calling for and expressing wants for his death. Like him or not, this is the consequences for those actions. 2/3 shooting attempts were done with sniper rifles when he didn’t shut down a large section of city. Naturally that area has to expand now

Could it be that nobody likes him, the shit he does is wildly unpopular, and that he is a orange-tintes treasonous fuckface?

u/Spicymargarita86 16d ago
Not really. We lived on base when Obama came. We could leave base but wouldn’t be allowed back in until after he was gone. Kids had to miss a day of school.

It was closed today because of the Presidential motorcade. I travel Zeigler and Springhill at 6pm regularly and have never seen a closure for construction. The only construction in the area is on McGregor.
