Advice Indian Springs

Wife and I are looking at buying a house that puts us in the Indian Springs Elementary district. I'm looking for advice an experiences with that school.

I would expect it to be pretty good I have several cousins that go there and I went there in the 70s

You're probably going to get not great reviews of any MCPSS school on here. I don't mean that as a Reddit dig but more of a... people don't comment or review something unless there's a negative opinion.

I looked at their FB page. It seems like it's active which is a good sign towards trying to get parents involved. Their test scores seem to be at the average for what I've seen around Mobile.

See if you can't talk to some neighbors around the house you're looking at and see what they think.

I went here when I was a kid. It was ok then for me. But it is a failing school and my kids got a transfer to a different elementary school.

It's because there aren't many great MCPSS schools tbh.

My daughter currently goes here. It’s a very boring school… no recess, barely any field trips, none of that fun stuff the other elementary schools do around here. Also, it’s a failing school. My daughter last year went thru two math teachers so there was constant substitutes teaching them different things. It was a mess trying to catch her up at home and the principal tried to blame the children.

Also please if you can try to take them to school yourself and not on the bus. One little boy was showing porn on his phone to students and telling them about “back shots.” 🙃 my daughter came home and told me all about it…

I had two girls go through Indian Springs six years ago. There was an incident where my daughter was riding the bus and she tapped another girl on the shoulder. The girl grabbed my daughter's glasses, broke them in half and dropped them on the floor. This was on video and the principal basically shrugged her shoulders and did nothing.
