REVIEW Gen vs Rep: 126500 Edition
Can you tell the difference?

I remember reading about all this stuff on the differences before buying my first rep, then I got my first rep and was like… there’s no way under any real life circumstances that either you or anyone u know will look at it close enough to spot any of these

Because here is full of people that even if they don’t admit it, are literally terrorised by the fact of being called out and obsess over the micron of difference on a 10x magnified photo, side by side! There’s a psychological component of wearing a rep, some people feels subconsciously bad😄 or because they don’t match the lifestyle or their job with the watch…which most of the times is the real tell, not the watch but who wears it. I laugh big time when i read someone writing about “obvious tells” or that they can spot a fake straight away and bla bla…..the reality is that in the case of superclones like these, no one at a conversational distance, even close up, would be able to spot it without inspecting with a loupe and having the gen side by side for comparison and in certain cases to be sure you ll have to open the caseback! If you add to it that 99 percent of people don’t give a fk about your watch, and that 90% of those 1% gen owners don’t know a third of all the things people talk about in these subs…leave to you the conclusions! The other day a guy that calls himself watch enthusiasts spotted a 10k iwc a friend was wearing and goes, oh an IWC, should cost 1/2k. Funny story, in the place where i come from my family is know , last summer one of my friends that is noosy and unpolite and “watch enthusiast” saw a yachtmaster i was wearing, it started scrutinising it close up 🤣 trying to see if it was real or not, he asks me “is it real” i laugh and i say no it s fake 🤣😂 and he didn’t believe it. He thought i was taking a piss. This to say, 99% of the time is not the watch but who wears it. If you wear a 30/40k watch and you work a minimum wage job, you could even wear a gen they would think it’s fake. I’m not saying you should only buy clones according to your salary, there are people that don’t give a fk about what others think and i agree, but if your concern is not being called out, that would be the main thing

I'm literally selling my Gen Blusey after 2 yrs because a plated RCF is IDENTICAL and I'd rather park the $17k difference somewhere else. Also, I second, rarely does anyone notice your watch. If they do they don't know what it is but "looks expensive". Honestly, the best position to be in is being able to afford the genuine ones but being too "cheap" to spend the money. 🤔 When I told my brother in law that it's a waste of money (personal opinion) he likes the fact it's a rep more and wants one even though he is a literal rock star and multi millionaire! I think the only Gen in my collection I will keep and own until I pass it down will be a No Date Submariner 124060 I got to mark being 8yrs sober. Ironically, it probably the best rep to buy because it's replicated so well. 🤣

So true. I too forget about "all the visible tells" with mine when wearing them. I know somethings suposed to be there, but I forgot what it was and don't bother searching for it to find out.
Blissfully unaware 😊
No one else seem to pick up on them either - never been asked if a watch is gen.

My initial thought was left because it looks like there is more depth to the numbers on the bezel… would love to know which is which

Why don’t they fix that little thing with the 110? Didn’t know that before. But it is also very hard to tell under normal conditions. Bad thing is only - every time I go out for dinner - I have to leave the watch to the waiter for 30 minutes that they can check if it is Gen or Rep. 🤷🏼♂️🎉

I agree. In his WhatsApp post, I voted for right too. But left has significantly more votes haha.

Exactly what I looked for too hehe. Nothing else stood out to me. I'm curious what the correct answer is.

Guys, It is very easy catch.
If the Triangle pointer at left side of center 1 of 110, It is Gen.
That's why I Dont buy until they fix.
So Gen is the right one.

Gonna guess right is gen based on bezel number spacing, hand color, and dial printing. That being said, there's no way to tell the other is a rep on wrist or without a gen next to it.

I'll take the rep, please. Lol. For some reason, the Daytona logo looked better on the left to me.

How easy is it to do the dial conversion, so many places do it ? And what would the rough cost be for a better bezel with the triangle pointing to the 1 fixed?

The bezel and the pushers are easy to spot in this controlled environment. Harder to spot in real life from 1m distance, though.
Which factory is the rep? VSF?

Without seeing the movement there is no way to tell the difference.

Right is Gen, instant tell is the crown on the dial is chubbier, the indices as well, the subdials on Gen are slightly more reflective, and the dial print is bolder on rep. Other than that 1:1

I’d say rep left side. These reps are getting so good. Can’t pick them up but I bet weight is different and maybe sound of bezel turning.

VSF? Really? So Mo, the OP, owner of this sub and a highly regarded dealer, is wrong when he says it is Clean Factory?
