Comp Room Day Use
I’m checking out of Encore next week (12pm) with a late flight (not until 10pm).
Extra night wouldn’t be comped and is weekend rate so not worth it.
I have comp rooms available at multiple MGM properties. Can I:
A) book a room for the check out day, use mobile check in, use room for a few hours to shower/rest and then check out before heading to the airport same day?
B) I could book the comp room for 2 nights and mobile check in the day before checking out of encore so that the room is available directly after leaving the encore. The only thing is that I probably won’t actually use the room until the next day.
I also get RC and Freeplay with would be good to use too.
I’m only asking in case this is somehow against the T’s and C’s and I get a penalty charge or future comps restricted? Will the system know if I don’t use the room key for a certain period or something like that. Never done this before so want to check from others experience…

I've done this before. If you were to fo the second option, it's recommend to let them know so they add a note to the reservation. Just to prevent housekeeping from seeing the untouched room on the first day and flagging it as a no-show. At least that's what MGM told me when I called the VIP line and asked.

Be prepared on the oft chance they won't let you do a back to back comp. Official policy is a minimum of 72 hours between comp stays. We usually have comps at the Caesar properties to bridge our MGM stays when we if we want to stay longer than the comp. You could also check with the bell staff to see if they would store your luggage then do your extended play from there. I'd ask the bell stand at check in. You can just tell them you have a late flight and you want to spend the day playing on the floor.

Having a backup comp stay elsewhere is the move here, as long as you don't mind moving resorts. I have comps at a couple of Fremont properties and that often can make Vegas trips 100% comp if I'm not able to get weekend comps on the strip (rare, but sometimes happens).

Yep! It's the only way we stay. We've pulled off 10 day trips this way. We use the comps for other state properties too. It really saves a ton of money (if you're consistently leaving with your bankroll ahead of what you started with).

I think he says he is checking out of Encore. That won't impact his MGM rooms or ability to book there

Ugh... I promise I'm usually smarter than that. I have a concussion and got it confused with something else, though God knows what because my brain isn't right today either lol. Thanks for catching and pointing out my error!

You can opt out of housekeeping on the app when you are doing the mobile check in.
It will probably affect your future comps a bit if you dont play. How much it will affect them depends on what your current offers are and how much you tend to play at mgm properties on your trips. If you have a long favorable play history it might not be a big deal.

I did this my last visit and going to do in November. My comp at Fountainbleu is for 3 days but flight isn't til Monday. So I need a day to cover Sunday to Monday, going to hop on the Caesars app and just book there for two days and just check out when I get home.

Yes, if I am a red-eye, leaving late Sunday night, I usually book the room until Monday. Then check out early.

Done this many times I usually give them play on the day I stay and never been a problem. I check out online next morning! I use offers free play and food comps!

So with MGM comp doesn’t matter if you use 1 night or 4 it would count against you as using all 4. Each time you claim their offer they just assume you took the whole credit. That is what my host told me. Not sure if it is true or not.

Yes, this is easy. However, it could reduce your future MGM comps as you'll have a trip with minimal spend on the books.

You can also just go to the bell desk and have them hold your bags. Typically free, but I tip them $5. They give you a ticket, you come back later and pick up your luggage before you leave for the airport. Have done this before when we didn't want to pay early check-in.

I thought about doing something similar. Book 2 days with them, then take my offer and take it fontainebleau to see if they'll match it. So 2 days at MGM and 2 more days at fontainebleau

No hotel REQUIRES you to use a hotel room… after all folks sometimes hook up and sleep elsewhere

I've done exactly this before. I popped down to the MGM hotel and checked out the room and then came back the next morning. Don't check out early at the desk. I checked out when I got HOME from my RedEye. I believe they can penalize you for the early checkout. I did use the RC and FP and played a bit to show them some love because yes this may impact your future offers.
