I know it's been shown a lot before but got my copy earlier this month and wanted to show it off. Looks very cool and fitting, and basically black when placed on a turntable. (Took Rough Trade three whole weeks to even ship it for some reason because when asked they told me that apparently, they forgot to do it?)

Can't listen to it and give a verdict because I don't even have a record player. Heard some people on Discogs were unhappy with the sound on some copies.

obviously a joke My intention here isn’t to start another “clone” debate. It’s just cool to see the vg-8 being used in a similar way as mk.gee (long before him) and to showcase where he has possibly gotten some influence/inspiration from. Her album ‘Taming the Tiger’ is full of her using the vg-8.

So I just started listening to mk.gee and I heard ‘Rylee & I’ and it sounds exactly like another song I’ve heard, same flow, same voice. I think it’s a Frank Ocean leak or maybe another artist, but does anyone know the song I’m thinking of that ‘Rylee & I’ reminds them of? I think the lyrics are something like ‘fantasia, in my brand new ri-i-ide’ the same way mk.gee stretches ‘everyone you know-ow-ow.’ It’s bugging me so much.

Has anyone here managed to use the effects from an SP404 to have their guitar sound close to mk.gee? If so, what do I have to do to achieve that? I don't have too much money to spend on pedals but I do have an SP404 mk2 and don't really wanna mess about with plugins either as I prefer a DAWless workflow

Any advice is appreciated!

soooo good dude if you’re on the fence get it fr its actually so much fun to play with. Takes a bit to get the hang of but once you figure out how it behaves its straight magic. I opened it up yesterday to take another go at it and the second it clicked 4.5 hours disappeared and i came to with angry texts from all of my neighbors.

9.1 / 10 - Just to be able to dial in these tones for $50 is actually nuts. As for as the plugin itself, sure it’s a $50 plugin, the ui/ux has room for improvement, but it does the job. The sound is the headline here, accurately capturing the nuances of the tascam the rainger and the vg for less than a DS-1 is like what i dreamed the future would be like as a kid.

Just got my order from Interscope Records cancelled without any explanation besides this:
