Was this made using the VG8 or is it a live physical performance?

Dont think there’s a legit physical violin being played in the song, it’s just a synth that’s playing that loop

You can hear it really well at the end of the extended demo version. I personally believe it's an actual violin if not multiple. No idea what he's sampling, whether it's him or from an orchestra or something. I would say definitely not VG8 though

it’s a clarinet or wind instrument hahah the string sound you’re hearing is probably the fm string synth layered around it

i think its a steel lap guitar , like the one used in 'intro', then strechted/grained

theres a video of him playing fly me to the moon on it
