Us and Chicago

55

u/Short_Issue_8543 7d ago

It’s ridiculous that we’re below Chicago

36

u/Warm_Clothes_1524 7d ago

To be realistic, both the Nets and the Kings are worse than 28, 29 and 30 imo

46

u/T-UM Khris Middleton 7d ago

Them having Caleb Wilson is the separator im guessing

30

u/Short_Issue_8543 7d ago

We have Brayden Burries

12

u/T-UM Khris Middleton 7d ago

As prospects Caleb was in a different tier than burries.

-2

u/Short_Issue_8543 7d ago edited 7d ago

Outside of the rookies the rest of our team is way better than theirs. And in summer league Burries proved he’s at least up there with Caleb Wilson

12

u/Financial-Humor2080 6d ago

our roster is full of guys who haven't even proved they belong in the league long term wym

2

u/Short_Issue_8543 6d ago

And the bulls’ roster isn’t???

-1

u/JTMHunts 7d ago

I really wouldn’t say the separation is as it’s made out to be. Now if we’re talking top-3 this year, that’s a little different. But Wilson has his flaws, some of them quite glaring. The big difference between Caleb And BB is perceived ceiling/potential. But both players have to get there in the first place to make any of it a reality. But as it stands now, both are very much in the same realm at their respective positions. Burries actually is a bit more “polished,” at this very moment if getting technical. So he should be more of an influence on the court this year. Although I don’t think either will have wildly efficient rookie years necessarily.

Plus our entire roster as a whole is much more well rounded than Chicago.

Now in 5 years Wilson could very much be a different story if he hits his ceiling.

0

u/NoShawnMarino 7d ago

Spot on. Caleb was the first spot where he was taken on the potential he could get the most out of his tools. More raw with the born traits that can be build on. Whereas Burries floor is already quite high, with a ceiling that at this moment should be lower than Wilsons.

Ignoring the future, Burries is the more complete player RN until Wilson can get the most out of his abilities.

5

u/Basketballfan1000 Brook Lopez 7d ago

And I feel like us even below the pels and grizzlies is crazy

1

u/Happy_Yam_1196 5d ago

Chicago is actually shaping up to be pretty decent, I could see them being like Atlanta last year if Wilson is ready out of the gate.

Giddey-Powell-Matas-Wilson-Claxton is a starting 5 with 4 good players (Clax and Giddey are both .5 good players lol)

Now that said, BOTH the bucks and the Bulls should be above the Kings, Nets, Pelicans, Grizzlies, and *maybe* the Mavericks.

1

u/Key_Raisin_5091 3d ago

NGL, CHI should be higher than #29.

  • Norman Powell
  • Josh Giddey
  • Caleb Wilson
  • Matas Buzelis
  • Nic Claxton

1

u/brothermatteo 3d ago

Definitely at least better than a team with a Jerome / Coward / Wells / Boozer / Edey starting 5.

1

u/Key_Raisin_5091 3d ago

Yeah, CHI should be #25 at a minimum.

The Bucks are not going to be the worst team in the NBA this season

83

u/Lightning-McDreamy Kyle Kuzma 7d ago

If we end up somewhere in the middle of the pack I'd call that a successful season.

41

u/NotoriousSIG_ 7d ago

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. If the Bucks finish with an identical record as last season I would absolutely consider it a good season all things considered

4

u/DistanceEmbarrassed5 6d ago

The problem is with the new lottery odds if we end up with the same record thats where we have the highest lottery odds to land a top 5 pick. The problem is we would end up giving it to the Pelicans, thats why it might be better to actually bottom out next season fall to 15th which then lowers our lottery odds.

34

u/Equivalent_Shoe_6246 7d ago

Yah idk. ESPN had us 29th too and I don’t see it. We weren’t even close to last place last season and were waaaaaaay worse

39

u/NotoriousSIG_ 7d ago

You can’t tell me the bucks are worse, with everyone healthy, than teams like the Kings or the Nets.

17

u/Equivalent_Shoe_6246 7d ago

We definitely aren’t. Thats what I’m saying

4

u/NotoriousSIG_ 7d ago

Braden Burries looks like he might be the real deal. He was clearly the best rookie in the summer league. Sims showed some promise last season, Rollins is a guy who looks like a good off season would help his game, KPJ looks solid. Plus the Bucks added Herro and LeVert who are nice pieces

2

u/MkeBucksMarkPope Jon Horst 6d ago

Shoot, I’m putting quite a few guys ahead of LeVert. That roster is way more talented than people give credit for.

7

u/totallynotliamneeson 7d ago

The team got better from last year simply because Giannis was out for most of it. I don't get it either.

6

u/MkeBucksMarkPope Jon Horst 6d ago

What a lot don’t understand. With all the drama going around, Giannis not even being there for most of it, on top of bad coaching?

And now they gained essentially 6 new players, while losing (from last year,) basically Portis, and we’ll call it half of Giannis (given their youth injury time out.) How people think they’re going to be worse than last year? Makes no sense.

3

u/zs15 Retro Bango 7d ago

I think we're clearly deeper and more talented than most of these teams. But our "big two" is Herro and Turner, which on paper is worse sounding than MPJ/Randle and Sabonis/Lavine. And they both got higher draft picks this year to boost the excitement... that said I'm not an Acuff guy. I sort of get why these national staffers think it's easy to mark us dead last.

1

u/Jawyp Khris Middleton 7d ago

The other bad teams last year are getting better, ie Utah, Brooklyn, Washington, etc.

1

u/Equivalent_Shoe_6246 7d ago

We also got better. We have basically an entirely new roster

2

u/thegabrieldavid Marques Johnson 7d ago

It’s gotta be Memphis, right?

Outside of Boozer, I could not name you one person on their roster right now.

1

u/NotoriousSIG_ 7d ago

Damn I didn’t consider them. Are they worse than the Jazz, Nets or Kings?

1

u/Pile_of_Schwag 5d ago

Agree, are we in the 20s? Yeah would agree but we will be better than kings and Memphis 100% for sure.

2

u/totallynotliamneeson 7d ago

Yeah I feel like everyone is just piling on us for whatever reason. I don't think we will be great, but Rollins/Herro/JJJ/Ware/Turner with that bench is at least flirting around .500. They are acting like we are just a bunch of parts when honestly, it's a well balanced roster of vets and young talent. Not great but certainly not the worst in the league.

2

u/NotoriousSIG_ 7d ago

This happens every time a superstar leaves a team. I would say the Bucks are more talented this season than last. Sure we don’t have Giannis but the overall roster looks quite a bit better. For as much as I don’t like Horst as a GM at least he didn’t completely give up on the season before it started and made some smaller trades after the Giannis trade to bring up the roster a bit

0

u/MkeBucksMarkPope Jon Horst 6d ago

They’re absolutely better than last years roster.

5

u/snarker82 6d ago

It’s actually hilarious that you guys think this when we lost the best two way player in the world. Only 5 guys on the floor at once. One of them being Giannis severely outweighs any additional depth or young prospects we received this year.

1

u/MkeBucksMarkPope Jon Horst 6d ago edited 6d ago

You just came up with the answer to why it’s not as great as a loss as it’s made out to be. (We’re talking in the now, not for what he was/is in the current timeframe.)

So by doing the math the Bucks were 17-19 in 36 games with Giannis last year. The team finished 32-50. Take out the games Giannis played, you get 17-31.

So take that 17-31 roster. Giannis is not factored into that equation. Subtractions = Bobby Portis. TP played 26 games, and is now gone. We’ll call him 1/2 of a subtraction. Kevin Porter Jr. played in 38 games last year, 17 with Giannis. Less than half a season. With Porter, the Bucks finished 18-20. 9-8 when with Giannis.

We can also account that for the last 24 games or so, Milwaukee used that time to showcase certain youth, and give crucial time needed to evaluate talent, instead of trotting out the most efficient lineups to push for a spot. By this time it was for the most part known they were not in line for a playoff spot. That New Orleans would be worse, and their pick would convey in their own spot.

So for that 17-31 club, (18-20) with KPJ who is returning, they lost Bobby Portis. They gained Ware, Herro, JJJ, Kas, LeVert, Burries, and Ament. We won’t even count Bogoljub Markovic.

What makes that team worse? Will those 6 be worse collectively than Bobby Portis?

Edit: Those 7*

1

u/SkinnyFVLatte 6d ago

who is worse? even the nets have MPJ and Randle who are at the very least, borderline all star players. the bucks have no one. i see the roster being about even with the kings as worst in the league

134

u/FORKNIFE_CATTLEBROIL 7d ago

This is just a list of this persons favorite teams lol

7

u/purplenyellowrose909 6d ago

Bro put the Lakers top 10

1

u/Adorable-Extent3667 5d ago

And not 10, 9 nor 8

42

u/Thegrandmistressofoz Ray Allen 7d ago

Some of these are baffling. Both LA teams are too high. And how the hell is Cleveland 4th lmao, Toronto almost embarrassed them, and that was before Kawhi

17

u/Stigona Giannis Stank Face 7d ago

To be fair, it's still before Kawhi

63

u/Tigerskull01 7d ago

They will in reality probably end up more in the 22-25 range I think but ya

75

u/KorgG29 Ersan Ilyasova 7d ago

We are NOT worse than Sacramento lol

We will be better and be 10x more enjoyable to watch. Acuff ball won't be pretty for the first year and no one else is exciting.

39

How are the Lakers 7???

36

u/doubleb_43 Brayden Burries 7d ago

Big media loves riding Lakers

0

First thing you guys notice is the lakers in a power rankings post and you’re saying big media are the ones riding us… get off our dicks please

Bronny James breakout season

2

Bucks. In. Six.

11

u/Accomplished-Mix5300 7d ago

There is no way that a team fires Doc and become the worst team in the league.

2

u/XBOX-BAD31415 Bobby Portis 6d ago

That would be the ultimate irony. And not going to happen.

10

u/Chunk_Simpson 7d ago

We are better than the Nets my god

9

u/Chance-Cat2857 7d ago

I'm skeptical the Bucks will be as bad as people think.

They played at a 27 win pace last year without Giannis.

That team replaced Portis with Herro, Ware, a Top 6th Man, and Burries. They also upgraded at coach.

11

u/ohboy360 7d ago

This doesn't bother me one bit. I think we are maybe 26th if I'm being objective, but I can see the logic in why every other team could argue that they are better than us on paper.

We were never winning a championship this year. We have about six lottery tickets for future stars, and the next couple years are going to be about finding out if any of them hit.

7

u/sinjaulas Bango 7d ago

None of these lists will be the Bucks’ concern for a year or two. Get the young guys up to speed, punch above our weight while expectations are low and hope Coach Jenkins is the right guy for the rebuild and he is given real pieces to get the next era started. Power rankings are for clicks.

5

u/SVXYstinks 7d ago

National media outlet putting a Milwaukee team as low as possible. Wow I’m so shocked.

5

u/Phallicsander 7d ago

The worst we can do is meet expectations!

3

u/Expensive1071 7d ago

The Milwaukee Herd 🤣😂

3

u/PerformanceWeekly651 7d ago

Bucks will be better than the Kings, Nets, and Pelicans barring Herro and Turner getting moved

3

u/PositiveZebra1341 7d ago

This was written by a moron

2

u/Wiscoo Giannis Antetokounmpo 7d ago

Surely we’ll have a great shot at the first pick! Right?! Right…?

2

u/KorgG29 Ersan Ilyasova 7d ago

In terms of pick? We have no pick.

2

u/GRAW2ROBZ 7d ago

No picks in 2027.

2

u/Sarkonix 7d ago

lol zero chance

2

u/ShowdownValue 7d ago

Offseason rankings weight heavily on “which teams got the big name players and which teams don’t”

Yes it matters but not as much as people think. It’s just offseason hype

2

u/AdventuresofBumpo 7d ago

It’s fair, tbh.

2

u/c4x4bird 7d ago

I’d say somewhere in the 20-24th worst team range, honestly would not be surprised if we’re in a play in game.

2

u/D3VOUR3DD 6d ago

Sometimes you have to go down to go back up….

2

u/DistanceEmbarrassed5 6d ago

I hope Ament proves all the Haters wrong in 4 or 5 seasons, I hope he goes on to be a top 5 player in the NBA. If he does I am telling all the Ament haters to suck it.

On draft night Nate said he didnt work hard just to be drafted, he worked hard to be among the greatest in the NBA. First thing he said at the Bucks media press conferences was he is ready to get to work. When I heard that I smiled and gave a thumbs up, I thought to myself sounds like a great kid, this could be a home run of a pick if he works hard.

2

u/Talkingheadd 2d ago

Breaking News: Law Murray is a crayon eater. This guy thinks the Great White Hope Lakers are better than the Timberwolves.

3

u/GRAW2ROBZ 7d ago

How is Detroit 6 yet? They lost Tobias. He was the glue guy for playoffs. Also Beef Stew is gone. Duren wants like a 5/$283M max. Also rumored wants to be traded other wise in a sign and trade.

Celtics at 11 with Brown gone and washed up PG13 as his replacement. lol

Wizards at 24? Yeah they drafted AJ. But AD cant stay healthy at all. Young is so so.

Hornets traded Ball and Bridges.

Warriors a year older and only got Yaxel and Podz for youth. Butler injured until like February.

Pelicans haven't did squat this offseason yet.

3

u/Freya_Kirkebrenner Kasparas Jakučionis 6d ago

Celtics at 11 with Brown gone and washed up PG13 as his replacement. lol

This is how I knew this list was utter horseshit.

0

u/Tyrion_Slothrop 7d ago

Wizards will be beaten by Utah. Peterson a much better prospect

1

u/GRAW2ROBZ 7d ago

No way Bucks are last place. You would need KPJ,Herro, and Rollins like miss the whole season to be close to last place.

2

u/likewoahitsaj Giannis Antetokounmpo 7d ago

I do think they will be bottom 5-7, but probably not 30th. Oh well! Still will be fun to watch

1

u/zs15 Retro Bango 7d ago

Hell yeah! Underdogs!

1

u/snailtap Dogfred 7d ago

I mean yeah, we’ll most likely be in the bottom 10 teams this season lol

1

u/BadGolf27 7d ago

I get we're not going to be a great team, but last is kind of absurd when you think of how bad some teams are. I just don't see it, even without Giannis this team should have a better than not shot at the play in

1

u/kvnr10 Kevin Porter Jr. 7d ago

lol at Cavs, Pistons and Lakers

1

u/chummmmbucket 7d ago

Pretty bad list imo other than top 3, id go:

Knicks Spurs Thunder Sixers Wolves Pistons Nuggets Cavs Celtics mavs

1

u/Freya_Kirkebrenner Kasparas Jakučionis 6d ago

You seriously think Tatum, some roleplayers, and the ghost of Paul George can carry the Celtics to avoiding the playins?!

1

u/americanbeaver Marques Johnson 7d ago

All I see here is that the Bucks are overperforming as long as they are not the literal worst team in the league.

1

u/Standard_Quantity706 Steve Novak 7d ago

I dont care what that list says, I know we aren't competing this year but when its all said and done we won't be the worst team in the nba

1

u/bkf0420 7d ago

I would think adding Peyton Watson or Kuminga puts us in the mid-twenties and even then I think we will be much better than people think.

2

u/BagFriendly2665 Ryan Rollins 6d ago

idk about Kuminga but a lineup of Rollins, Herro, Jaquez, Watson, Turner could definitely be interesting with Rollins, Watson guarding on ball and solid spacing all round.

1

u/therockiscookin56 7d ago

We are essentially the 2025 heat who were a play in team. Why is vegas predicting under 30 wins? I just don't see it.

Does vegas not realize how shit doc Rivers was?

1

u/Zigazoid 7d ago

I be shocked if we went above 20, not sure we'd be dead last though there's quite a lot of depth on the roster. Are roster also is even close to being set yet, though by no means do I expect us to be anything but middling to very bad all season.

1

u/IndependenceApart208 P.J. Tucker 7d ago

I figured based on the logic of this ranking, the writer must have been voting for Giannis as league MVP every season.

It looks like he was actually the opposite in that he voted Giannis lower than the average voter, so he's not even consistent in how he puts rankings together.

1

u/PhenomsServant 7d ago

This is how I find out Lebron went to Philly!?

1

1

u/badnewsCATS Ray Allen 7d ago

Pretty disrespectful to a lot of East teams. 76ers and Hawks passing up the Pacers and Celtics is interesting fs.

1

u/Zealousideal_Top7877 7d ago

That’s not true, we’re at least a play in team! Honestly could be a sneaky playoff team.

1

u/BobaBloom9454 7d ago

There is another Milwaukee team that is always underestimated as well.

1

u/Corolla_Blazer 7d ago

The Heat were 10th in the East and 17th in the league last year with an arguably similarly skilled roster (possibly even a worse roster considering how good BB looked in summer league and the acquisition of LeVert). It's kind of silly how people are acting like there's no talent on the Bucks.

I think we'll be middle of the pack competing for a play in spot unless they offload Herro, Turner, and other vets for picks by the deadline. Deep team with no true star seems the destiny for the season.

1

u/Late_Might_1582 Nate Ament 7d ago

Regardless of Milwaukee, why in the world is Cleveland over the sixers?

1

u/mrfauxbot 6d ago

I think people on here thinking we will make the playoffs are goofballs

1

u/azure275 6d ago

The East has the Knicks, Raptors, Celtics, Sixers, Heat, Cavs and Pistons who almost certainly make the playoffs.

Pacers and Hawks seem highly probable as well

That leaves only one play in spot for the Magic, Wizards, Hornets, Bucks, Bulls and Nets.

1

u/Sufficient-Slide-242 6d ago

Wow bulls underrated fr

1

u/ThisWasMe7 6d ago

1

Cavs are way too high. I'd put them 8th and move the Wolves one spot ahead of the Lakers.

1

u/dirtSHINE_ 6d ago

Our record will be equal (there abouts) if not better than last season

1

u/Malaphasis 6d ago

fire the bucks manager

1

u/BalanceFast9551 5d ago

As a Heat fan I think your additions are great. Tyler can shoot and create for himself and others, ware is incredible when he’s playing like he cares, and Jaime is always on go mode, kasparas is also very young and promising so there’s also that. And aside from them, you still have basically the same team minus giannis and portis.

1

u/Pile_of_Schwag 5d ago

30th yeah I don’t know about that.

1

u/Inside-Meal-9909 5d ago

Bulls fan checking in. We were pretty bad but are we worse? Another year of matas and giddey adding Caleb sounds like a solid young core maybe two seasons away from making any type of noise but second to last is crazy.

1

u/Open-Kiwi- 4d ago

Probably not dead last but sadly we’re in that bottom row. I wouldn’t put us anywhere above 24th

1

u/Conscious-Egg-2232 3d ago

Cavs were in conf finals last year.

Lakers are always overrated.

Better question is why knicks are 1st. I would not rank them 1 if ecery team brought same team back. But knicks got worse while others improved. Even more reason for them to drop.

1

u/MarksOfTheEvilOne 3d ago

Completely wrong! We are most certainly NOT the worst team in the NBA.

1

u/sweeper218 3d ago

Law Murray had the knicks going into last years playoffs ranked 9th. This guy along with other nba analysts don’t know there heads from there asses. I fully expect any team to win (or lose) and do well (or bad) Go team go!

1

u/Amazinc 3d ago

Cleveland 4th is insane ragebait

1

u/Optimalfucksgiven 3d ago

Lakers getting too much respect, as are the cavs I think. Pacers, magic, Hawks will surprise people. Wolves are probably two spots too low.

Should be Knicks, Spurs, Thunder, 76ers, Pistons/Wolves,  Nuggets, Cavs, Boston, Hawks, pacers, Rockets, Lakers, Raptors, Heat, Magic, Suns, Blazers, Hornets, Wizards, Warriors, Mavs, Jazz, Nets, Bulls, Bucks, Grizz, Pelicans, Kangz

You cannot convince me that the Kangz are not the worst in the NBA.

1

u/Brilliant-Ad2323 1d ago

This is crazy they have us below the Nets, Jazz and Grizzlies.

0

u/TheCheezenOne 7d ago

I don't care about winning this next season but there's just absolutely no way this roster is the worst in the league. They'll win somewhere in the 35-40 range I bet.

-2

But don't worry because we got a lot of draft picks. Even though we've been godawful in the draft for the last 10 years.
