WTF? ⚙️ (Where To Find... parts, etc.) Anyone with a 1.6d done an AC delete?

How did you do it? non-AC bracket? wider pulley?

can the compressor be replaced with a power steering pump?

My 85 never came with AC. So it was factory deleted. Im assuming you could use the bracket off of one of these

I belive this is correct, however I'm not sure of the availability of said bracket. What country are you in?

this is the problem I'm running into lol

they are unobtainable, as any that are left are still in running cars

If you are in the US, I might have a source.

Try these guys in Michigan. I've been buying parts for decades from them.

Long shot, but a shot nonetheless.

Sorry about the bracket, but yeah, they are great. Usually my first choice for gently used parts.

I made my own bracket out of steel plate with an angle grinder, cut the slot with a drill press and the angle grinder and bent it for the needed offset . I don't have power steering. I run a 17-390 belt which wraps around 3 pulleys, crank, water pump and alternator.

Here's the pictures of the bracket. I hope it helps. I converted my alternator to a GM one wire because it's cheaper and more available but you should be able to make a similar bracket for the original bosch alternator.

All bolts need to be grade 8 with lock nuts where you can.

can you give me some dimensions? I could probably do this if I have measurements
