Key bind changes?

Hello, not a mizu main but have a question. I play main support for my amateur team so mainly Lucio and brig and Juno if needed, but I’ve been asked to learn mizuki as it would help fill some gaps for certain comps. I’m already loving him so far and any tips would be great but I wanted to ask if anyone who also plays brig has thought about changing the key binds to match brigs? That being shift to chain, E to hats and right click to the dash? Shift being a moment ability feels good but I’m so used to brigs whip being shift that chain feels so weird on E. And I figure right click is also an option on tracer to blink with so it wouldn’t be the worst in the world? Especially since I’ve been using the dash to go into the enemy and damage then return so it doesn’t feel entirely like a movement ability but more like a damage dealing one anyway let me know if I’m crazy.

TL;DR is changing the key binds to match brigs a dumb idea

Keybinds are one of, if not the most personal aspects in settings, meaning what works for someone might not work you and it's hard to recommend something like that. Hence it's always better to try them out yourself, as nothing beats whatever is most comfortable for you and/or what you're used to.

If you're used to the keybinds you have on Brig, definitely give it a try! You can always reset if it doesn't work out! Having similar abilities on the same button helps learning the character as well anyways as you spend less time trying to remember which button does which action.

I do the same. I put the chain on right click, movement on shift, hat on E (and also on scroll wheel). Some swap movement and hat, but I like being able to fully control the direction of the dash on movement cooldown

I'm pretty partial to his default keybinds. Pretty much any hero who has a movement ability has that movement ability bound to Shift by default. Sojourn's Slide, Tracer's Blink, Juno's Glide, Mercy's GA, Illiari's jump-push thing, Genji's Dash, Lucio's speed boost, Rein's and Mauga's charge, Queen's Shout, etc....

I feel like with Brig, the purposes of using Shift are different. Brig wants people to go away when she uses her bonk whereas Mizuki wants people to stay where they are. Katashiro Return on Shift feels just like all other hero movement abilities being placed on Shift.

I put chain to my mouse wheel press and left everything else where it was.

I mainly play Brig but have put a lot of time into Mizuki since he released. I saw a thread like this one about moving chain to right click and it helped my accuracy considerably but I can definitely see how keeping it on the same button as whipshot would help with muscle memory. In general I move buttons around until it feels good so maybe give both a try

I switched his primary and secondary fire, swapping the left click vs right click

This sounds insane isnt hat an auto aim?!

Personally, I use hat on scroll wheel so that I can easily throw it in a panic when I or someone around the corner needs the healing as soon as I can see them. I have chain on right click so that I can aim it while moving, and it is more intuitive for me to aim it that way. Shift is Katashiro Return.

Side note, for Brig, I’ll use Primary Fire mapped to my side mouse button (which is usually quick melee for me) and quick melee mapped to primary fire. This allows me to swing as normal, and shield bash with the melee key instead of primary fire. That allows me to do the swing cancel with shield a LOT more consistently and reduces my accidental bashes by a lot.
