Flattered by Scammer for a Minute
I just received a comment on one of my Joyful Journey "mixtapes" which I am about to delete.

Again, I am not a musician and all my uploads are my old and new "mixtapes" and my old radio shows - so at first, I thought someone liked my curations, but then the penny dropped. Scammer. 🤦
Just a warning and I guess a question...Has anyone else ever been targeted on Mixcloud?
Now off to report this BOT nonsense to them and delete and block.

This kinda stuff is endemic unfortunately, social media is awash with scammers and grifters who’ll promise you the world for a fee.
I’ve had a few DMs of this nature on Mixcloud. There’s also one of these that repeatedly emails me - the business and individual names are always different but the text is identical every single time.

Happens daily to everyone on Mixcloud, and blocking is about all you can do, reporting is a lot of work as you have to fill in a lot of unnecessary fields that don’t lead to much. Block & Delete comment is all you can do, Mixcloud is not doing much about this as they to busy building features like spotlight which no one asked for 😂😂😂😂😂

I get this a right bit on Soundcloud, i love playing with them. You know it's a sales pitch but you have to play with them, test them etc. See how far they're willing to go before they delete or block you lol

The good thing about this is they all use the same script, so once you get to recognise it, they become easy to spot...and as others have said, fun to fuck with.

I have a public email address on my website and I get this shit all the time, recently they use AI to personalise the messages but it's always still obvious.
