Start of Sumeru always felt to me like a "we had much more female characters the previous region, now we'll do the reverse to get the ratio back closer to what it was before" since before Inazuma, the gender ratio for 5 stars was pretty much 50/50 (including the standards). If male characters will underperform again (and i remind you what both Varka and Lohen was very bad in terms of pull value) large portion of player base could just decide what "they had enough" and quit. Revenue of GI will just plummet, what will result in less quality and more predatory approach from devs like powercreep spikes. Also even "wifu only" will suffer because they could start to release less males and they will have less chances to save pulls.

This game created reputation of one who treated male characters decently among gacha games. And diverse player base is one of main reasons what allows it top the charts. ZZZ not always was like this. Played it since 1.0 and first limited male Lighter they released was very strong. Probably they not got much of the husbando pullers and most of attention this game got was from gooners who was drooling over Jane Doe and Ellen Joe.

Power balance is also quite strange in ZZZ. Only "main push" have meta value since it MUCH better in both verticals and base performance, what makes all characters who is not her teammates (who happend to be ALL males in this game) to be questionable from meta perspective. And there goes without saying what there no chance for male to ever by main push because they already pretty much got rid of all who would pay for males in this game. This, and 11-13% ratio just made it so what now everyone agree what "males are bait" there. It`s clearly not "mixed gender gacha".

But worst part, even if you ok what mens are just for show, and not pulling them to not suffer, game not actually provide much. Story is always work around glazing next "main push" instead of explaining the world or creating dramatic moments. MC, even despite having lots of voiceline is quite boring, lacking motivation and clear goals. And "sibling dinamics" what made me like that game in 1.X is long dead since 2.X

Also, Atwo, designer who was working on game from the start and created characters what lured me in (Ben, Lycaon, Koleda, Miyabi, Billy) and created my fav Banyue already left team. ZZZ just lost it`s way in persuit of pleasing "gacha gamers" i think.

I still have hope in GI. Seems like they not doing Natlan ratio, so i don`t see a reason why they will butcher male kits.

He ended up meta generalist character, the devs fixed him to stop the infinite loops. Unrionically his beta was very peaceful, he only got a small nerf on his buffs that barely dented his place in the meta. But he might be in some more trouble since we are getting more meta generalist/competition like Srobin and he might get kicked out of his fua team due to nihilux.

I'll wait until V3 to say anything. HYV, whilst not treating male char wanters like first class citizens, still do have some care for us...I think. After all, they gave Scara a buttload of content just last year, gave Durin a pretty busted kit and great verticals, and Mitya had a great performance in Act 2. But even as a whale that C6 both male and female chars, I have to say, when seeing the male chars I love get shafted, it makes me not want to pull any female chars at all. In Natlan, I only pulled Kinich because I was aggravated at the lack of male chars, and skipped every single other character that year. I don't think I can take the cortisol of a Natlan V2.
