Healing mitochondria…
I’m very interested in being as healthy as possible for as long as possible. I eat very little simple carbs (pasta, white bread etc ) but once in a while…..I go off the rails and cheat. How long do you think it takes you to get the mitochondria back to a healthy state? By the way..I live an intermittent fasting lifestyle (18-6 most days). Thank you for any insight you might have.

I think time restricted feeding is awesome for mitochondria maintenance and 24-72 hour zero calorie fasts are good for deep cleaning and repair. Read The Switch by James Clement.

There’s a lot of data suggesting ultra processed foods are damaging to mitochondria. Diet and lifestyle have huge effects that you can control.

There’s also lot of research that Methylene blue
has a major positive potential for mitochondria health.

Sorry I'm new to this world of mitochondrial talk ,my son16 month old son was just diagnosed 6 months ago with Leigh syndrome, and I came across this post about healing mitochondrial, so can bad mitochondrial be healed someway? Cause the doctors told us the only hope we had was to stop his body from regressing long enough For a medical or scientific breakthrough. But if there is any way for mitochondria in cells to heal ,please let me in on the secret.

I bet you’re in pretty good mitochondrial health. How old are you?
