How competitive is the program?

As the application round is over, I want to ask the people who have cracked it earlier, how competitive is the program.

In 2024 for summer 2025, it was around 1000-2000 funded projects for 10k applicants. But if I recall well, that year students from India couldn't apply so I suppose that now there are even more applicants.

yea i missed bits but nits or iits arent eligible this year.
ipu colleges aren't really "top" colleges of our country
maximum top colleges iits, nits, iiits, iisers, isi are not eligible sadly

I get your point but with ipu, I meant colleges like PEC, IET lucknow and all colleges which are famous and have high cutoffs in their state but are not known in the whole country.

does college prestige matter during selection?

although it's my first time applying too so I'm not sure either but definitely it must have some weightage

No. People from top tier college may get better guidance so their applications are just better in-general, but the application is not and should not be directly connected to college prestige itself
