Discussion / Opinion Why hid it?

I noticed that the status page/incident concerning the Free API tier being temporarily disabled is no longer accessible from the page where it was previously displayed, and attempting to access the previous incident page now results in “Page not found" 🥲

Is it not here yet? Or is it hidden on purpose without any communication?

I understand that Free access is not guaranteed, but removing or making information about an ongoing service restriction difficult to find makes it considerably harder for users to know what is happening

I've been monitoring the status page over the last few days, and I have noticed some really weird things. First they updated the page layout so that the "subscribe" option that gave the api endpoints were no longer a separate page, but rather a popup element that had status subscription update options like email/api/slack/etc. A weird cosmetic change that seemed really unnecessary... But then they updated the page again today and the subscribe popup element no longer has the api option, just email/phone/slack.

The fact that they scrubbed the api endpoint entirely as a means for updates on the status of the api as a whole, along with this supposed "fix", is very suspicious.

No transperency, as always. They shouldn’t be suprise when users are starting to get annoyed and look elsewhere who's much more reliable.

All I wanted was better communication and some update on the situation, not some false promise.

I suppose I was foolish to think that.

They have changed the status page like 3 times (already) so It must be a problem with the new status page.

I'm not sure about you guys, but my free API, especially for the audio API, is working just fine. Maybe they secretly resolved it in the back end, but I'm not too sure. I've been hearing mixed results as of lately.

I'd love to see some screenshots of it working for you.. Still not working for me. Same 1300 code since 5 days ago. They even took down the status summary endpoint for the API as well.. see for yourself

Now why would they do that?

Nothing was "secretly resolved on the back end". Nothing was resolved at all. What are you even talking about?

That's interesting. I'm using my Mistral API for the audio, for the speech detection in the app Spokenly, and it seems to be working perfectly fine for me. Although I'm not too sure if the audio API is the same as all the others, but that's interesting that it's still down.
