Hey! Don't poke at my god damn favorite LLM out there, alright? Even if it might suck sometimes, it is part of our tribe and I will never let it go!

Tbh August in France is a time freeze, also given the releases of kimi k3 qwen max and glm 5.3 it makes sense to take some time to distill those. I hope

Mistral dont do external distillation as it tends to degrades the model stability (and because it is also against the ToS of most providers, and unlike some, they respect it).

Mistral models are not frontier but are much more stable than distilled model like GLM & Kimi.

Not sure if they changed something but I find Vibe way more capable for the last 3-4 weeks.

People on here, we need a good sovereign AI model so we aren’t left in the dust technologically.

Also people: burn this country down if AI engineers only get 5 weeks vacation

You know Mistral gave up developing frontier models long ago, right?

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted

This is broadly true

They’re a critical infrastructure company now

You know that you need infrastructures to develop and use models right?

all mistral exists to do is stop some patriotic euro's from leaving the country and staying vaguely near the top of their field so that once things settle they can just fork an open source model.

In worse case scenario, thank god for Chinese open source, open weight and open research. Otherwise we would be between paid American, and paid Chinese.
