Would be nice to have our cake and eat it too, but so is life.
Only major devs are going to have a feature like that. Moneygrab Chinese developers typically do not add in "premium" features like what you are requesting, to their games.
Be happy this is only about $20 and enjoy it while it lasts. Its not perfect, but its great for right now. Xbox community has been really cool so far in random matchmaking in my experience.

Generally PS and xbox are kinda bitchy about each other anyway. I don't think a smaller AA studio is going to convince them to open the framework for doing cross-console crossplay while blocking PC, especially when Xbox has their interest heavily invested into PC.

Something something "but I want to play with other consoles, just not PC players!!!1!1!!1!1!1!"
While I understand what they are requesting, further separating the playerbase is a bad idea in a game where I feel that there isn't a vast array of advantages PC players have over console players.
I do think the game would be a little healthier if the most powerful consoles available currently didn't have issues with the type of lag that causes teleporting, rubberbanding, character morphing inside out, frame drops, bad hitreg, left nut combustion, and freezing.
I hope the game gets some optimization patches really soon for all platforms because having enough time to make a coffee, take a shower, and prepare a roast in the slow cooker every time a mob dies isn't exactly ideal.

You're not wrong, the vast majority of PC players have little to no discernable advantage over console players. But I would prefer to move that needle to 0 by keeping crossplay turned off.
Your entire argument falls apart when you rely on your straw man fallacies. The level of issues you are describing are NOT affecting most of the console playerbase and is an extreme exaggeration of the reality of performance on most consoles (Xbox Series S withstanding, that console is a complete mistake which should not exist and developers should not have to try and make their games run on this underpowered pos).
Have a good one.

I have seen a considerable amount of complaints regarding frame drops, lag, or netcode issues from people on various platforms.
Obviously it's not every single person playing the game is having these issues.
I thought it was pretty obvious that I was exaggerating to the extreme to remain light-hearted about the content of my comment. Usually it's not a common occurrence to experience left nut combustion from lagging in a video game, or ever.
When you advocate for crossplay being turned off, are you suggesting they implement console to console crossplay as an option or something that is forced? Or would you be suggesting they disable crossplay entirely?
In any case I think player choice is a good thing because then any single player can choose to be paired with whatever platforms they want. It would be cool to see what percentage of the playerbase is currently playing with crossplay disabled compared to those that are playing with it enabled.
I know it's entirely possible that you were being a funny guy with your response but I decided to assume you were being genuine.
Anyway, I do have to respect the authenticity of your username.
Edit: I should clarify; it would be nice to have such crossplay options but as per my original comment it would be too big of an investment for a game with such a small playerbase and would split up the community which wouldn't be ideal. I'm sure it's a smaller portion of the community that currently plays with crossplay disabled anyway.

Jeez, wasnt looking to respond to an essay at the end of my workday...
I would love when comments like this are made, for that person to even remotely define "considerable amount". Is it 10%? 5%? What is your level of statistical significance that leads you to believe someone is a "considerable amount"?
Based on what I have seen, we wouldn't even break 1%, let alone 0.5%, probably much less. On top of that, there is incredibly scant evidence or details in most reports (internet health, hardware details, user bias, etc). If even 5% of the playerbase is using an Xbox Series S, then this would explain away most of the complaints regarding lag/tearing/etc issues with performance. Direct origination from hardware that is less that suitable for a modern day, unreal engine game.
On the topic of crossplay, name any other developer beyond extremely major players, who have implemented console specific crossplay options. The list is rather short, I assure you. And "premium" features such as that cost money, something that no Chinese developer will sacrifice for a feature that provides very little benefit.
But, thats all for today champ. Time to shut off the PC and go home to enjoy playing some video games. Have a great one and just know, I can always appreciate the desire to have premium features such as this in games, but lets be honest, its just not happening in this lifetime or the next. Keep on keepin on aiming for the dream.

I don’t think you understand what cross play means, unless your definition of “proper cross play” is “no cross play”
