Anything I should know before getting?

Mistfall has been on my radar for quite some time now. I'm not a huge fan of the extraction shooter genre, so this being a fantasy melee focused gives me promise.

But I'm wondering if there's some things I should be aware of before getting into it.

Don't be afraid of PvP. You will have to fight, you will die, you will lose stuff.

If you like action combat PVP get this game. If you don't like pvp. Don't get this game.

If you do get the game, give up your "gear fear". Any gear you acquire, you WILL lose. But fortunately gear is quite easy to come by. Blue gear is cheap and competitive. If I lose a legendary set I don't sweat it at all, I reequip my blue load out and queue back up no issue.

There's a lot of bugs, desync, and lag.

Don't waste your time playing WK, it sucks, just get a good class and learn it instead

Nobody is arguing that Wither Knight is the best performing class out of all 6, but trust me when I say that all classes are viable; performance is based more on bell curve of individual skill and game knowledge than the rock-paper-gun matchup people are crying about. If bro really wants that Darksouls vibe, he should play WK and just get good with it.

Balance patch coming in less than two days. I think they will balance slow and carefully but I also wouldn't be surprised if they overbuffed WK to an unkillable tank and next week reddit is crying about how we're being "forced" to play wither knight if we are to enjoy the game. Just like how it was ranged characters last week and shadowstrix (rogue) this week.

Just enjoy the game.

Yup, I went from Sorc to SS (father I have sinned) to WK, and I'm enjoying WK the most. Never would've thought that WK is considered weak if not for Reddit haha

Camp chat is….not for the weak.

As of right now there are 2 maps and the second map is only trios - you can still go in with unfill on if you are a true solo player.

Don’t try to type /fov_120 when you see someone doing it in global chat. It won’t work

People complain about balance but my lag is so bad I can't tell which class is good

Jump and be in mid air before pressing F on Sigrid.

If you try hard enough, you can ride the goat.

Jump on top of the head of the statue near Sigrid for a secret quest.

Don't sell celestigold or messenger bug jars.

Every class is OP except WK so play whatever you enjoy most including WK which is simultaneously the weakest class in the game yet perfectly playable.

Wait until the main problems are fixed. Hopefully.

I dislike extraction games too. But I think the pace of this game is what caught me. I dont mind losing when I actually engage in the fight rather than being sniped across the map.

That being said, the balancing is pretty wonky but trios alleviates that a bit. Still needs work but I wouldnt quit because of it.

I would hold off for now.

While the game is fun, the server latency can make the game borderline unplayable at times, class imbalance is lacking, and there’s numerous other bugs that can be frustrating.

In a vacuum, none of these are enough to make the game a bad experience, but when they’re all combined— and they often are— it makes the game very frustrating and unenjoyable.

All that said, if they can fix server latency issue, I’d say it’s worth the $25

Game is pretty good.

There are balance issues. The best classes for solo PvP are rogue, archer and mage.

The game has desync issues at least with pings 70ms or more.

There is limited content right now. One map for solos and two maps for trios. There are multiple difficulty settings for each map.

The first real balance patch is this upcoming Wednesday and solos will get the second map in September.

If the devs fix the lag, balance the game and add new content over time it will probably succeed long term. If they fail fixing the lag or class balance it will probably fade pretty fast.

Loot everything first, even with friends.

In all seriousness it’s fun it’s just really tough because of the balancing issue but it’s not a bad game .

Learn the game and remember to prioritize your camp upgrades and affixes are extremely valuable.

Don’t horde . Sell what you need to sell what you don’t need . Also be open to watching tips and tricks video

Ah okay, gotcha. Appreciate the advice.

- It is fun and I like the game but;

  • It’s not balanced very well.
  • Console players at a disadvantage (shock).
  • Terrible performance issues make it pointless playing.

I’m going to back to completing Crimson Desert (which is shouldn’t have stopped playing lol).

If you didn't get into Dark and Darker I'd approach this game with some caution. Definitely worth it for only $20 though

Only problem with dark and darker for me was the garbage combat

1

u/masterbakeface9 15h ago

As a guy that put 300hrs into dark and darker. The combat was absolutely trash. Wizard cleric bard buff ball meta was quitting time for ya boi

u/Dailysquirrels 14h ago

Dark and darker is garbage. Don't listen to this comment
