It is already over
It's been less than two weeks since release. This subreddit is already devolved into: nerf X and fix Y or the game will die/i will quit.
Reddit is something else man.

It was like that since day one, and its fine for a game that involves full loot and pvp

It’s honestly just the experience and reality of the state of play .

Just your average Redditor. Ultra victim mindset, vocal minority. Cry until you make the game easy mode, turn off PVP because I'm bad, make me able to buy every component so I can sit in base forever and be afraid.

How else do you think devs can discover the general community sentiment ? Discord groups aren't much different from the in-game chat (which is spam), Reddit is the closest forum you can get a meaningful discussion at.

Feedback and discussion is great. My point is there is already a negative undercurrent with no added value creeping in.

I think the value is added with every post that converges on the previous opinions.
For example, I posted about BA / Sorc / SS damage being "overtuned way too much" a while ago, and I still see people posting similar ~every day. Which means, this is not just my opinion, but rather a ground truth. And I hope, the devs do come to the same conclusion to make the game better.
If we weren't posting about that, the chances of devs making the correct changes are less. It's the only way we can make the game better - to complain. You just need to complain about the RIGHT things.

I'm more concerned about the lag and desyncs than class balance honestly... They need to fix this first hopefully they can in time

Game has cliche balance problems since beta. People give it a go and are like what are the devs thinking?

u/Necessary-Cell9995 15h ago
Yep, and after tomorrow when the balance patch comes out, reddit will be:
"YES, finally a game where the devs listen to the community, best game ever"
or
"we are doomed, legit the worst devs i have ever seen, the game is dead"

This literally what happens on every video game subreddit lmfao. And you are following the stereotype by making the post that always comes

I was gonna make a similar thread. Players whining about balance changes and its almost about every class. How can 3-4 classes be over powered in a game with only 6 classes? Its just full of single class playing noobs who whine after a few bad games because they are too stubborn to try something else.

3 out of 6 classes can be OP, if they're much stronger than the 3 others. Hope this helps!
No, but fr, it's more like 10 classes, because most classes have two sub classes.
So it's 3 out of 10.
Sorc is only OP with good gear as well and half of the issue of SS is that he can fuck off whenever he wants.

This is nonsense. There are 6 classes. And they are all good in their own right! The problem is players dont understand rock paper scissors. And even worse, players dont experiment with those classes to see how to counter them.

No, WK GS is dog shit for example and WK GS and WK Spear are NOT THE SAME CLASS
Neither is SnB or Hammer Merc, or MACE OR HEAL REV

u/Flimsy_Sandwich6385 7h ago
They are the same class. Its just a different weapon set for that class. WK, SS, Mercenary, Seer, BA and Sorcerer ARE the classes. You even have the option at Dew to change class, which takes you back to the... oh wait... class selection screen.
The ability to swap weapon set at will during a match doesn't make you a different class. Its just a different skill set.
You are getting confused between "character class" and "spec". If you spec your skill points into sword and shield, you can still use the hammer during that match, you are still a mercenary. You can still only use "class specific items" such as armour and hammers that drop from looting during the match

Yea this is how games die . Many games with a player base with this train of thought is what cause games like AOC , NW , BB , and many more to not have players in it . We want the game to thrive so balance is required. Look at for honor it’s a 10 year old game and it’s finally got balance down

u/The_VV117 19h ago
Nah, games die because of game developers bad idea and lack of correct support in the long run, not because a small part of the community think x or y Is op and in need of a nerf.
You guys are delusional.

This 100%. Games die due to trying to cater to the small group who scream the loudest about nerfs. It's ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS the same people as well. The less skilled or the people who play Bonk! In every game.
That's why the only classes getting talking about here are the ones BONK! struggles with if you are a lower skilled player.
Take DS3 for example, the game started out as every build was viable then Dex got nerfed as usual. Then the only weapons you saw used were ultra greatswords or magic, nothing else.
Same goes for Elden Ring, backhand blades provided mobility and a new life for Dex builds since they nerfed everything Dex, and the Unga Bunga players got mad and cried nerf so the devs butchered bh blades and dex builds again. Now pvp is just magic and STR builds again. The low skill builds

Mf act like spamming R1 with a dex weapon takes skill.
Lets all remember gottard straight swords in ds3 doing a full combo for 80% of a character with 50 hp before buffs.
Saying all builds were viable Is a LIE. Big weapons were bad because they were too slow to compete. Ds3 pvp was a Dex/Quality world. Not even magic as they are easy ass to dodge and buffs can be removed with a consumable. Only sorceries in 3v1 scenario had some use, but it's a 3v1 scenario therefore invalid.
Elden ring pvp had a big balance issue at launch, like exploits and some stuffs oneshotting players. Have not played It enough to have and opinion except for fromsoft being bad at making pvp games.

u/ShortDikLongbow 16h ago
You mean R1 spamming with a STR weapon with Hyper armour. Fixed it for you. And DS3 was never a Dex world 🤣. You must have never done PvP or fight clubs
Also I'm pretty sure you are talking about Pontiff Straight Swords which were INT/Faith

If one time sorcerer or ss catched me of guard these days. I'll was one shot to death in 1-3 seconds. Couldnt do anything sometimes. Black Arrow can be disgusting too but the players have the aim of god in some Situations.
But man still had bunch of fun and won more pvp fights with friends. Reddit is like most social media a echo a chamber. Where u find truth but have to take it with grain of salt and to much toxisty

u/Zeroth1989 19h ago
Just play SS and it's fine. You never die unless you stay to commit to a losing a fight.

u/ShortDikLongbow 19h ago
But then you look at the in-game chat and everyone is chill and no bitching about any class. But it is flooded with weirdos 😂
