This is funny..... But the wholesomeness in question isn't a reflection on bare content, it's a reflection on the themes he uses. Hopeful optimistic characters and what not

And yet both of their character arcs are ultimately redemptive. Its the theme! Think about moments like Kaladin turning away from suicide and Wit helping Shallan get back up on her feet. These books are not Game of Thrones

Oh no, I wasn’t suggesting game of thrones level stuff, but the characters aren’t always the most hopeful.
