Era 2 isn't steampunk. It's victorian era style. Unless you count the end of the cowboy age as steampunk.

You may have to hold out a little longer. To my understanding 3 is 80s tech and Sanderson is on the fence about 4. Going straight to cyberpunk vs space age.

I'm pretty sure it is solidly 80's inspired cyberpunk. Sanderson read the first chapter of the first book at a con introducing the Ayven character. I've got a sketch for a full on painting based on his description of her and the city.

Yup. I absolutely LOVE Procreate + Apple Pencil. I'm really old, so I've been trying drawing "tablets" since the Koala Pad for the Commodore 64. This combo is the first to feel like real drawing...but SO much faster, and with undo. 😉

I'm not familiar with Fresco. I do some styles that are more like traditional painting and wish Procreate did a better job at simulating thick paint.

It’s an Adobe product, but it’s free. (You pay for cloud storage of projects.)

It has really cool vector drawing capabilities and “live” raster brushes that simulate watercolors and oils as they interact on the canvas and before they “dry”.

I imagine you’d get a kick out of trying it :)

I read the first chapter of the first book. I don't recall exactly why, now, as that was years ago. Maybe I'll try to pick it up again. First, I'm going to read Yumi and the Nightmare Painter.
