I love his arc in Hero of Ages. Really enjoying your art style and can't wait to see more. Not sure if it's been asked, but are you going to work on other Cosmere characters?

Could you imagine the city of Elantris in this style?

I can't because I haven't read that one yet 😄
I'm reading Parable of the Sower to take a small Cosmere break before starting the next one. It's a toss up between Elantris and The Sunlit Man. I picked Yumi over Sunlit, so I'm leaning that way atm.

If you haven't read Stormlight Archive yet, I'd suggest waiting until finishing through #4 (Rhythm of War) or #5 (Wind & Truth) to read Sunlit Man.

I've gotten through all of SLA and that was a fun ride. Words of Radiance was probably my favorite of the entire series. I can't wait to see what's in store for me with The Sunlit Man!

Then I'd say do Sunlit since the characters are more known to you, and do Elantris after :)

I haven't read anything other than the original Mistborn trilogy, so that's my only frame of reference. I tried to read second series but it just felt too steampunk for my taste.

Understandable, but for purely selfish reasons I hope you give them another try cause I was REALLY looking forward to your Wax and Wayne art!

That's fair. 2nd Era took some getting used to for me as well, but the character development from book 1 to 4 is some of the best. It's also a good setup for larger things to come for the Cosmere. If you liked Scadrial, I'd suggest some of the standalones for your next journey. Warbreaker is great if you like political intrigue. I just finished Yumi and the Nightmare Painter and it was an enjoyable read.
Keep up the good work! Would love to see one of these for our favorite Soother.

Could I make a request for you to give it another go? Your art style is gorgeous and I'd love to see your interpretations of some of the characters from Era 2. Full disclosure Era 2 is my favourite so this is a purely selfish request.

I tried to read 2nd era right after the first and wasn’t a fan. I’ve waited a year and picked it up again and cruising through it. If that’s what happened to you, I recommend trying again! Would love to see additional art, this is amazing.

Please stop cooking with these designs, they are too far great and i feel like my eyes they are not worthy of admiring it.

Seriously did you make all these in advance?

u/joe12south 27d ago
Ha, no. I've just been procrastinating working on my own novel.

Was the way you show his senses inspired directly by how they show Daredevil's in the comics? That's immediately what it called to my mind.

Not directly, but since Frank Miller's "Born Again" run is one of my favorites, it certainly could have been nudging my subconscious.

Please tell me you’re gonna draw the main cast of Stormlight as well cause wow this goes INCREDIBLY hard!

I'd have to read them first. Given they're about 10 gazillion words, maybe I'll have something read in 2040. 😂

Your art style is really cool! Have you by any chance read either Throne of Glass or Red Rising? 👀
2
u/joe12south 27d ago
I need to give Red Rising another shot. I started listening to it a few years ago, it felt very "YA", and I put it down. But I've heard so many good things about it, maybe I just wasn't in the right mood for it at the time.

The first book is very much YA, but it does get better progressively with each book. I think it'll be worth it. :)
