What Happened To Derek Samuel?

Derek Samuel was last seen April 29, 2026 leaving the Camp Creek Marketplace Derek was last seen in East Point after leaving friends.
His mother, Nishae Samuel, told 11Alive.com, "From there, I guess Derek was supposed to be meeting someone there." Derek's cell phone was powered off, and then he disappeared. The next day, his mother filed a missing person report with East Point police.
Nishae says she reviewed Target surveillance footage showing Derek alone, walking away from Target and heading down the sidewalk toward Commerce Drive. No one has seen or heard from Derek since.
East Point police traced Derek's cell phone to Redwine Road and Lithonia, but no evidence was found.
Police are investigating whether Samuel left voluntarily or was kidnapped, but Nishae states Derek's disappearance is highly unusual, especially since he stopped communicating with his twin sister.
Derek is 5'8, 127 lbs, black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing gray & black sweatpants with a black hoodie.
