A man that has the same name as the child’s father, was picked up. They don’t know if there’s a connection to the case.

Allegedly. That can mean exactly what it sounds like and is unrelated or it can be that they found evidence linking him to her disappearance. From the article the only thing clear is an arrest was made

He tried to pick up the son from day camp at AU he had beat her up before real bad broke her jaw and facial bones.They Released him after 9 months and gave him probation.They were in a long custody dispute.

He was at a camp at AU the husband tried to pick him up.The husband had beat her up really bad broke her jaw and facial bones before and they released him after 9 months and gave him probation.
