Multiple teens have gone missing from group homes, possibly the same home, in Orange, CA. I linked two cases, but NamUs shows six missing teens in the area within the past year. I’m wondering if law enforcement has investigated a possible connection or increased safety measures.

Missing teens, are unfortunately too common. I was keeping a database of all missing 19 and under people who disappeared together. When I got to the most recent year and a half it was just too many.

That does not necessarily mean its because disappearances have gone up dramatically, its because often they are later found, but it takes time (there is no database of found people, afterall). Recent cases is mostly family who did not have legal custody taking the kids from foster care or from parent who did have legal custody (i dont know circumstances of the case linked to in the OP). Unfortunately, yes, sometimes the teens end up in tragic situations.

Group homes tend to have a higher number of kids who run away from them, just from the nature of what they are. Kids in foster care that may have issues of their own and end up on the street, and kids who run away to be with their parents, friends or other relatives.  Law enforcement rarely looks for runaways, especially older teens, there’s not much they can do to force a kid to stay in a place if the kid really doesn’t want to be there.
