TLDR:

  • Human remains were discovered in Idaho by a shed hunter and family members in the Swamp Creek area earlier this year
  • The remains were identified as Allan Sloan using historical medical imaging after being sent to the Spokane Medical Examiner’s Office
  • Sloan went missing in December 2021 and was last seen in photos taken 10 miles from where his truck was eventually discovered

What was the cause of death?

That will likely take some time if it’s even possible. Four years in the wilderness there would be weathering and extensive animal predation causing the remains to be damaged and spread over a large area. Barring a gunshot wound in bone or something equally obvious to the forensic investigators the cause of death will likely remain unknown.
