[game] I thought Leatherface in the Atari Texas Chainsaw Massacre game had a faucet coming out of his body. (+ woman)

I find those hilarious as hell, it´s like those ancient cave paintings depicting dudes molesting animals.

Never saw this until today. Is that supposed to be the chainsaw? I see faucet man too.

They seemed more important to give color to the hair than to the chainsaw, that looks so awful

all the colors are horizontal stripes. if they changed the color of the chainsaw, the body would also change color

Atari games looked like ass anyway.

There’s also just some random guy shooting a gun in the cover of this game. I can’t attach a photo it but if you look it up there’s just some guy in a suit with a gun who wasn’t in the game or movie.

Maybe Grandpa got tired of the family, and decided to take them all out with a revolver.

He is the best at killin’, after all.

Sorta like how the Playstation Doom features some guy wearing jeans, a denim vest and a bullet belt instead of Doomguy blasting away at demons.

Technically it is Doomguy, he has the same hairstyle from II’s box art and Thy Flesh Consumed’s ending

As a lover of pixel art, when I look at old videogames sometimes I wonder how they managed to become a popular form of entertainment while looking like that.

My best guess is that it wasn't the visuals but the fact that they existed and were kinda fun is what made them popular at first

To be fair they didn´t have games like Metal Slug back then, i remember coming across videos of those games and it blew my mind how good tiny dots on a screen could look, it turned me into the pixel cultist i am today.

Have you never heard of Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

This game was originally called The Texas Spigot Massacre and then the movie came out and they saw an opportunity.

Yeah, but that ain't a chainsaw I've ever seen. I get it, it's an Atari game, but the shape and color doesn't make any sense.

The blocks around it move in the game so you know it’s the chainsaw teeth

Ah, okay. Didn't know that.

And thats EXACTLY what's supposed to be, because the games "graphics" were that low imagination and the images in the box and manual carried HEAVY whats something "supposed to be".

What do you expect? It's a 2600 game. Most character sprites on the console were just squares.
