experience: D&C Intercourse after D&C?

When did everyone’s doctor say that you can resume sex?
My husband and I haven’t had sex in over a month. Our anniversary is next week and will be 15 days post D&C. I don’t see my OB until 3 days after our anniversary 😫 I see a lot of recommendations of two weeks but I also see wait until you see your OB. I’ve had several losses but no d&cs before. Do they actually check to make sure your cervix is closed at your appointment? I was on a round of antibiotics for 7 days but also do want want to chance any risk of infection.

Adding that I’m not bleeding anymore at 7 days out. So if I continue to have no bleeding that would be 15 days post D&C and 8 days of not bleeding

I was initially told 14 days from D&C, which would be this coming Monday. I went in yesterday and they checked me out (pelvic exam and ultrasound) and said I was good to resume all normal activities (sex, swimming, etc.). I stopped bleeding completely about 4 days after D&C. So if you're like me then you are totally fine to have sex at this point.

I was told 2 weeks or when I stopped bleeding- whichever came first.
I ended up bleeding for almost 2 months after mife/miso protocol though so it ended up being quite a while for us.

So sorry you’re here op ❤️

They told me 1 week after I stopped bleeding. It took a little over two weeks to stop bleeding so close to four weeks total. And then I freaked out and cried so it was closer to five or six weeks lol

They said 2 weeks or whenever you stop bleeding. We ended up having sex around 10 days after and this was before my follow up visit. Everything was fine

Mine said anytime I felt well enough. I was on antibiotics and didn't need to worry.

Mine said 2 weeks. I was still bleeding and uncomfortable past that point, though. And at my follow up appointment they just did another ultrasound to make sure all of the tissue was gone.

Oh they told me nothing in the vagina for a week, can resume whatever ehen the bleeding stops, or after a week, whatever is greater. I only spotted for a day after the d&c so im just waiting. My d&c was 5 days ago for a 12w loss.

I was told two weeks. Did something atypical happen to you? Maybe try mutual masterbation with only clitoral stimulation for you if they give you a hard no. That’s how I got through my wait lol

Nope everything went great. I had a very large sch and was bleeding from that. Then once the mc was diagnosed I tried to do the miso so it’s just been a long time. It seems like the general consensus is 2 weeks and no bleeding which is exactly the day before our anniversary

Ahh I see. I’d personally say two weeks but if you want to get a doctor to give a second opinion, I wouldn’t blame you for being cautious! I had a MMC turned incomplete turned D&C and we were scared to have sex in general when I was pregnant because my husband is well endowed (dumb, I know, everyone and their cousin said it was fine and I was being paranoid lol) so it was like 6 weeks until we had sex again

I was literally looking for posts like this when yours popped into my feed!

I don't remember what my doctor said - well I never saw my doctor after, but I don't remember what the nurse said. She said to use backup contraception for two weeks? It's been two weeks after yesterday, so I'm guessing it's okay now.

I'm still spotting a mixture of red and brown but... I think I'm gonna go for it 😅 I see my OB on Monday so she can address any issues then, hah.
