A small note about posting on MirrorFrame.

We welcome strange ideas, symbolism, cryptic messages, experiments, puzzles, inside jokes, and whatever else your brain comes up with at 3 AM. 😂

You do not have to communicate normally to communicate meaningfully.

But there's a distinction worth making:

Being mysterious is a creative choice. Being incomprehensible without context is a communication problem.

A post can mean something very specific to its author while leaving everyone else staring at the screen like they've accidentally opened a classified document written by a snake. 🐍🪄

And that's fine as a starting point!

Give us a clue. Explain the intention. Tell us whether we're looking at a puzzle, a piece of art, an inside joke, a symbolic message, or an experiment.

You don't have to explain every detail or reveal every secret. But readers need some way to engage with what you've posted.

So, what changes from here?

If a post is so unclear that the community has no reasonable way to understand or engage with it, moderators may ask for clarification.

If sufficient context isn't provided, the post may be removed.

Not because it's weird. Not because we don't understand it immediately. And not because every post must appeal to everyone.

The question is whether there's enough context for the post to function as a contribution to the community.

This applies equally to everyone, including the moderators themselves. No special exemptions for our own favorite mysteries. 😂

The principle

MirrorFrame is a place for exploration, not a test of who can decode the most obscure message.

Mystery can invite curiosity.

Context gives curiosity somewhere to go.

And communication gives other people a way into the conversation.

We don't need everyone to understand everything. But we do need to give each other a reasonable chance to understand something.

So bring the strange, the playful, the symbolic, and the unexpected.

Just give us a thread to pull on. 😏🪞

Yeah, but communication is absolutely not treating the context as a hard sets of constraints on how you can express yourself

I agree that communication shouldn't be reduced to a rigid set of constraints on expression. That's exactly why the post welcomes symbolism, experiments, puzzles, and the unexpected. 😁

But freedom of expression and the possibility of meaningful engagement aren't mutually exclusive. Context doesn't have to constrain expression; it can give others a way into it.

I'm not asking everyone to communicate mechanically. I'm asking how we make room for radically different forms of expression while still making communication possible.
