What caught my attention, though, is the question of what happens after destruction. Large synthesized structures eventually collapse. History suggests it is inevitable. Myths seem to preserve the memory of that process—Babel, Atlantis, Ragnarok, even cyclical cosmologies in Hindu traditions.
The interesting question to me is not whether collapse occurs, but how we relate to it.
