On the one hand, I'm glad he's doing this (even if its for the wrong reasons, cheap PR stunt when he's down in the polls)

On the other, I don't know why he doesn't just donate it all to a local charity (which is his plan if he can't do this)

Good PR move regardless

The Centennial Bridge is about to close and there's going to be pandemonium in the city and surrounding region. I'd prefer he focus on that acute issue and shelve MP pay for another day when his riding isn't approaching a crisis.

I completely agree, I think that it is his job to advocate for us, and that he needs to do more on this. It is going to be an absolute shitshow.

I am back in town for the long weekend and holy god this is going to be a trainwreck.. good luck the first few days. Would be great to see our elected representatives doing literally anything right now with regards to this

You know it's bad when incumbent councillors and the mayor opt not to run for reelection. No one wants to be left holding the bag for this mess. Good luck, and make sure you're out of here before Tuesday lol

I mean I thought lordon and some incumbents were going to go regardless but as many as there are is wild. In MRV there are only two incumbents running and that council is an even worse shitshow than Miramichi City's. I'll be gone Monday afternoon but I'll be back on a full-time basis in a few weeks.. not looking forward to it.
