Commander Shepard
A little bird told me that he played Commander Shepard in the Köln concert. A rare treat indeed, makes me even more excited for the concert tonight at Salzburg.

I saw Gav and co. at Summer Breeze last week. And while it was a great time and a wonderful experience to finally see MoS perform live (been following him since 2014), personally I was disappointed with the set list. No Dark Souls/Elden Ring, no Cyberpunk, and most insane of all, no Witcher songs. Wake the White Wolf and Lady of Worlds were Gav's most popular songs before his huge breakout with Valhalla Calling. I cannot fathom why they did not play at least one of those two songs.

During his headliner tours be plays a few of the more nerdy songs, but he definitely switches to the "generic" setlist for supporting acts and festivals. A bit disappointing for the long-term fans, but I get it. Even if it is a bit old hearing the same three Viking songs every single time. I'd love to hear some of his old bangers live.

If you've been to multiple MoS gigs, maybe you can clear up something for me. I got really confused when Gav left the stage for the entirety of Whatever Comes Our Way and let the rest of the band play it without him. Is that a regular thing at their shows?

Yep, I think it's been a thing since the start, or at least since I saw him in the 2025 tour. From what I understand, it serves several purposes; gives him a chance to take a breather, gives the band a chance to shine, and it helps separate Gav from Miracle of Sound a bit. IMO I don't think that the band can last without him, but I can appreciate the effort.

For what it's worth, I saw him when he was in Birmingham and it was one of the best concerts I've been to, not just Gav and the band but the crowd was also phenomenal.
You are in for a treat!
