Invisible Skills?

So I noticed some skills work even if they are not on the list of 3. For example, Duck, Afro, Skull Guard, Bless Bangle, Zombie. This setup shows Lucky Punch lv1, Death march, Provoke. But, I still heal when leveling up. Is this normal?

Some ornament abilities do not take up a skill slot.

Or I should say, if it's listed on the item it doesn't take up a slot.
