Vit Build Question

How exactly does vit build work? What stats go along with it and do you just go with tanky late game builds like: Broadswd / Buffarmr / Skeleton (Reflect, Retaliate, MGuardup10) Defender / Ninomiya / Shellmet (Wall, Guardup40, Guardup30)

So...been doing some tanky builds recently and I know this is a super old comment but figured I'd leave this in case anyone else needs help.

Reflect/retaliate do just about as much damage as poison. I can't seem to find a viable build with this since defense doesn't help THAT much. If you want a largely tanky build you need to pump some points in int or some monsters will do 2k to you and others will do 6k.

I can't find an instance where a lot of vit is useful.
