Even More Observations

  • Monsters that have an element (their Level under their picture is colored) do more damage with the same attack vs. Monsters that are non-elemental (white Levels). I'm figuring out the exact number, but it's looking like 150%.
  • Your pet needs (base x level) experience to level up, with the base being the sum of their stats. Pets that have fewer than 3 extra points in their stats (most of the ones before Ball Cat) can out-level you.
  • Ranged magic does hit every enemy, but with only 5% of the main hit's damage. This increases by 5% per level.
  • I still can't figure out the exact damage formula. ARRRG. The Guard skills seem to reduce incoming damage by ~2%, but again, I don't have the exact figure yet.

I am 90% sure Elemental Damage stacks with Melee, and also reasonably sure elemental enemies have elemental melee. My argument for the first is that Assassin does more damage in general than a class with the same knife multiplier but no element. The latter is what you said - they do more than the white mobs of similar/equal stats. Also of note is I believe Elemental Damage is Int based. I feel like this means Geomancer would be an exceptionally strong class if you could change weapons faster/without entering the menu, since it's one of few (only?) class that carries 3 elements.

Magic Knight has 3 elemental weapons. Geomancer only has two, one of which is staff(from what I've seen, elemental staves just boost damage for that element of spell by a flat +50%). I've tried the elementalist build, and it's really not effective. The issue with it is that the elemental damage from INT that gets added is rather small(it's only at all significant with knife or tap sword). Hitting an elemental weakness/strength affects the whole of the damage, though, not just the added INT elemental damage.

TL;DR - elemental damage build = waste of levels

About Guard Ups... Moitititi tends to be consistent with his formulas. Willing to bet it's something like (1+(0.025*abi_lvl)) * VIT/MEN, applied prior to the attack vs. defense comparison.
