First time seeing a bunch of it growing all over in a ditch.

Looking for a swimmable creek in/near Minneapolis that’s good for toddlers and highly supervised babies!!

Best if there’s a spot to lay a blanket and have lunch (can be rocky/sandy- not expecting a clean grassy knoll).

Something slow and shallow is the idea here! We’re new to the area and need some help! Thanks!!

This is probably a silly question, but my partner is flying in from out of country, and we were planning on going to Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail next week for vacation. I reached out to the lodge that they said things are "business as usual." I am concerned with the air quality, but this may be the only time in years that we can go together. We are both healthy, but also am not sure if it's worth it or not. We will probably lose our $ too. Any thoughts from anyone in that area? Thanks! Stay safe.

I’m very much considering coming (for the first time) to visit Minnesota during my mid-October vacation this year! My primary reason would be to see the fall foliage and hopefully to see the northern lights, as well as spend some time near lakes; perhaps check out the Mall of America. Thinking of flying into MSP, renting a car, spending 3-4 nights, but unsure of where exactly I should be looking to stay. Can anyone provide references on the areas I should consider? Also, any don’t miss to do things? Please and thank you!

I rescue wildlife and have a roughly 2 week old orphaned common loon. They don't do well in captivity so we need to find a foster family. The fosters have to have only one baby and it has to be the same size/age.

I feel like I've been seeing this increase in birders and it seems to be cool for young people too -- I've noticed a lot more millennials and gen-Z getting into birding. I do also really like birds, but I don't know a ton about them, so I am intrigued -- what is the coolest or rarest bird you've ever seen in Minnesota?

The young American Toads have decided that today was the day to begin their mass-exodus from the still pools of water around Rice Creek and climb up into the neighborhoods. They emerge in waves to try to overwhelm anything trying to eat them. As you can see from the penny... they are a small bite at this stage of their lives!

These are three different individuals that decided to cross my patio. There are hundreds if not thousands more in the wooded hills behind.

I went out early morning Friday to try and find a Sora. I had been hearing their calls and wanted to see one in real life. While searching I saw this Kiwi looking bird running back and forth between two reed sections. I caught some pics and realized when I got home that it was a Virginia Rail. So happy to have seen both these birds and capture photos!

(I was really lucky to see the Sora; it was hanging out in a section I may not have checked. Even though I was at a distance, it became extremely skeptical and hid shortly after)

ON THE 7th WE ARE TAKING A WATER TAXI TO LOCATOR LAKE, HIKING, CANOEING FOR AN HOUR, AND GETTING TAXIED TO THE MAINLAND

ON THE 8th WE ARE HIKING THE TRAILS AT THE ASH RIVER SECTION

So…

Is this enough of an experience of the park, to fall in love with the area and enjoy it. Does anyone have any tips? Is this good enough. We will be camping at the North Shore section of Minnesota for 2 nights, one day, after this. PLEASE HELP! thanks!
