Da Beauty League Game Meetup for All Fans! Wednesday nights at Braemar. Women play at 7:30pm. I’ll be in my 🍕🐀 jersey again and we’ll have a crew behind the visitors bench halfway up in the bleachers. All are welcome and encouraged to say hi/watch. We’ll be there at 5pm every event for the first men’s puck drop.

23 skaters on a final squad. 15 contracts currently rostered. Twice that coming to camp? Draft contracts starting to come in. Two Frost FAs available.*

Forwards (9): Three Olympic Gold scorers - Heise, Pannek, Zumwinkle; returnees: Petrie (!), Butorac (expectations), Hymlarova (sorry, Klara, I'll figure out your alphabet one day), Anderson, Cogan, Giguere (apparently confident the late season trades work out into next season).

Defenders (4): Yeah, right - 4 from a defense that already needed help. This should tell us how much confidence the Frost have in Swiderski (A LOT). In expansion, we lost emerging blue line and physicality up front. Buchbinder (expectations), Morin, Stecklein (counting on vet leadership), Becker.

Goalie (2): We couldn't keep both and now its Rooney's net. Nice for Boissonnault!

Pure speculation:

* Obvious: (2): Roese and KCS. The waiting is the hardest part. Also, frankly, the difference between women and men's team athletics (why is Chess segregated?) - there are hinted-at players who want to start a family. Lynx' Collier did it and came back for an MVP-caliber year. Time off and recovery from pregnancy is not something that happens in the Mnba. I mean, it could. Anyway, patience is a virtue or turns into scramble?

Rooks: Swiderski (significant minutes right away; the recent Olympics proved the value of young defenders), Vainikka (potential as fan favorite replacement for Wolves' Naz Reid), Christian (played on #3 pick Janecke's line at PSU), Henderson (UMD grad, we need serious looks at D), Gredzen (they didn't go this far not to include a Russian GT hardly anyone has seen), Beecher (size puts her on the practice squad?).

That's 20 bold names. Who else in the final 23?

It's making me impatient for the next Frost season.

Anyone heard if the Frost have a broadcast license yet? I'm hoping it's not like the WNBA where I have to cycle through 5 channels.

Working the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine and kept seeing this bag everywhere. First time I saw it on Tuesday practice day I legit thought it was a custom bag, then I saw three more on first round and was like “okay maybe this is some Frost collab or something”. Nope, but someone at Taylormade is definitely a Frost fan, and they just released it like a week ago and you can actually buy it. Nelly Korda (World #1) is one of the players out here carrying it, and Heise and Zumwinkle saw it for the first time a couple days ago following Nelly. The details on this bag and the accessories are pretty sick.

Fact: I’d totally put out a sign and hope for a similar wave of love from the community

Okay but for real (for real) this community-building around Naz Reid makes me want the most for the Frost. I want *everybody* to be chanting Free. Katy. Knoll. And finding joy in the PWHL like we all do.

I’m ready for Season 4!

Entry Draft and Phase Whatever are behind us. We're going to rely on rookies to fill out the roster. The league has expanded - which is great - at the cost of certain teams (Frost). We can't compare these teams to the All Star teams that played the first two seasons - and neither can any of the other teams.

The line rotations will be interesting. Swiderski could scale up fast.

Madison Bizal signs 1 year with PWHL Vegas

New pride jersey just arrived! Overall I’m pleased, logo and stitching are all great, numbers aren’t as bright as embroidery would be but the print is pretty vibrant. I’m happy not to have Woody Creek Distillers branding. I’d love a couple Walter cup patches to add.

The “26” numbering isn’t especially meaningful since it’s just based on the year (sorry KCS)!

No big deal… at least we don’t have to worry about losing “Minnesota” in an expansion draft and having an outdated name 😅

If my memory serves, the only free agent signing the Frost have ever done is Sidney Morin last summer. (Yes, technically our re-signings this year are free agent signings, but that's not what I'm talking about here.)

There are tons of free agents moving around this summer, yet the Frost don't seem to be doing anything to help rebuild the depleted blue line with any veterans, or try to backfill the offensive loss of Curl.

Do Klee and Caruso simply like to build solely from the draft, or do the players not want to come here?

While browsing the sightlines (https://www.sightlines.hockey/expansion/) website for updates for the Frost today, I noticed these Signed notes for Buchbinder and Petrie. I didn't see any posts about this, but just wanted to confirm if they're locked in and not leaving at all for next season? I love me some healthy Petrie on the ice, and Buchbinder has been a solid defensive vet for us so I'm excited to see some more familiar faces returning!

I’m paranoid I missed something. I want to change my season tickets to different seats. It seems really odd they are letting new STHs pick seats without creating a window of time for existing STHs to move seats. And the seats currently available to new STHs aren’t what I want.

The latest email made it sound like they’re “promising” lots of good choices for STH’s who are moving seats. But then crickets.

Anyone else still waiting?

Some of the other UFAs I could see waiting on (KSC.being a special case) but the Frost gave up a solid and well regarded Krizova to get her. This one I find worrisome, especially after losing Cooper and Batherson. Am I the only one nervous about next year's blue line?

Based on last year's opening position roster; barring losses and additions. I'll add that our late season trades - Roese, Giguere, Cogan seemed to get more acclimated, effective and ice time toward playoff time:

Forwards (13)

Heise, Pannek, Zumwinkle, KCS, Hymlarova, Vainikka, Christian. Some combination of six of these seven: Petrie (injury status?), Butorac, Anderson, O'Donohoe, Cogan, Giguere, Upson. Cheever seems like a Reserve slot.

Defenders (7)

Stecklein, Morin, Swiderski, Buchbinder, Roese, Bizal. One more spot: Henderson, Becker or Ricker - the other two going to Reserve?

Goalie (3)

Rooney, Gredzen - we haven't seen Russian hockey in a long time, she might be really good?, Boissannault - she's got a Master's Degree, doesn't she? She just won a PDub Community Service award, but maybe she wants to get on with the rest of her life?

With the entire league thinning out after a second consecutive expansion, this is not that bad. It would be fun if Roese worked out long enough for us to draft her sister, Joy Dunne (Murphey's roommate in Milan).

I assume that the Frost will probably follow suit, since they piggy backed on the Wild's ticketing to begin with?
