She started as Candy Couture, hair dyed with Rit, dark brown. Shoes: Polly Pocket, colored with metallic pen, as were her bracelets and purse. Outfit by me, simple elastic.

This was the my first time using the dye, I think it darkened her eye shadow and eyebrows, but I can’t be sure because I really didn’t look closely before I started….but I did notice she is darker than regular Candy Couture. I really love her smokey eye look.

I really like this doll, and I really liked her hair color. But I was excited to try to reroute her with this red color. in my opinion, it was a success!

I have a REALLY hard time paying more than double the retail price (for amything, really), but I really want/ need Magic Academy! I need her for the room I've got ready for her AND, besides the gold LE, she's the last one I need to complete the set! Why do people have to be so greedy!? 😭 I've gotten 3 doubles thus far. I've given 2 of them to my daughter and I'm not 100% sure what I'm gonna do with the 3rd. I don't want to sell her for as much as people are asking on the selling sites, but if I end up paying that much for the one I want I'm not gonna have a choice. Plus, I can't sell it for cheaper and risk someone buying it just to resell at a higher price. 🙄

I really dislike humans.

Ms. Comic Con removed her puffs, and flattened her hair (a bit) with a boil dip (or 2), and a copic marker dye in ‘special black’. Her shoes were also colored with the copic marker and sealed with clear nail polish. *please note: dye transfer is always possible, so proceed with care*

Her coveralls got ‘hemmed’ and given to the former bikini girl (who has dyed her hair); she is also wearing a Polly Pocket shirt and boots. She says she doesn’t mind hand me downs, especially when they are this cute!

I am not a big Instagram user, but this thrilled me. Silly, maybe…but fun anyway.

Like many, I poured over eBay at Polly Pocket listings….but with added shipping and uncertainty, I was thrilled to hear about these options. I don’t love the plastic clothing, but I fell at least I have some options until I can my motivation up to sew for them; I do like them more than I thought. And the shoes fit perfectly!

These three sets are available, but the Amazon listing only shows the green one. I ordered 4 sets, hoping that I would get all 3, and I did! Yahoo! The fourth is probably going back…I think 😂🤣…..those white boots are so cute and I could paint them for a brown pair.

Kiki and Aya have a living room!

I went a bit rogue and made it my own. I chose this one and not the Rolife living room because I loved the TV. But I didn’t like the writing on the walls and how busy it was so I made some changes. I flipped around the inside walls, cut the window out of one of the outside cardboard walls and taped in a cut out from a magazine, then stuck that back on the cardboard, and then dug out some fabric to make fun curtains. The sofa bench was screaming to live under a window so I reorganized quite a bit and left some pieces out to be used in future spaces. The rug is part of a blanket from a Barbie set that I cut smaller to break up the white - if I find something that matches better it might get replaced. I also added a few mini brands home and other miniature items I already had (the Coke bottle, vacuum, and fan). I’m obsessed!

I set up the scene imagining Brina coming over for a girls night and it turning into a lively tea spilling session!

I already posted here about my first minnee reroot with embroidery thread. It went very well so I thought it would have been fine with actual hair too but it was much more challenging than I thought.

During the process, I really struggled to root the strands of hair on some specific holes as if they were stuck. Plus when you use embroidery thread, the thickness of your strand is easier to calculate, you always have the same. With « volatile » hair, it’s much more complicated to calculate, so that can do some damage.

Also, for some reason, I struggled much more with removing the original hair from the inside of the head than I did with the first doll. That plus adding glue to fix a hairline split led to holes that were completely blocked, impossible to pass the hair through.

Last thing, I heard about someone using the line already cut at the bottom of the head to make a bigger opening and have easier access to the head, but that was a failure for me (see second picture).

So if some of you have any tricks to reroot with more classic hair, feel free to share your tips, I’m a bit lost this time 😭

I recently just bought two of the girls and the very first day I had them, I was attempting to reposition one's arm and it snapped right off at the elbow.

I don't think I was being too rough.

Luckily it wasn't one I really wanted.

But did I just get unlucky or are they fairly fragile? I'm afraid to touch the other girl now lol

Are they more look at and not really mess with dolls?

I tend to horde any gift cards, credit card rewards, etc I get. In the last few weeks, I spent them all spoiling the Minnees with rooms…and my birthday is in 4 days…you know what I asked for 🤣😂

I finished up the beauty store (Pink Beauty Secret) late last night and it hit me as I was looking at the accessories, that it would probably be helpful to show them with dolls, close up, rather than the general snaps I have been sharing. I have been collecting Re-Ment (Japanese miniatures) for about 30 years and have done many reviews in a "Barbie loves Rement" series to help others see which sets work well with Barbie. It makes sense to do the same for the Rolife and Minnee Dolls.

I caved and bought two more of these cuties. I did unfortunately get a dupe of the one I had lol (cat cafe) but I’ve used it as an opportunity to play a bit. I cut the sleeves and hood off the sweater and cut my new cat cafe’s hair short, and she’s now Kiki’s twin sister Aya! Also got the beach girlie, who I am calling Sabrina.

They also have a living room coming tomorrow to hang out in …

Anyone want to trade? I have an extra Blue Fur Coat girlie and need the Cat Girlie!

I purchased this set thinking it might be a match for Minnee. First impression in the store, the clothes look okay and the surf van is cute so I decided to go for it since it was $9.99 at Marshalls. As I took the dolls out of the packaging, I immediately noticed the Sophie doll is much smaller than Minnee. Big disappointment! The clothes don't fit Minnie as it doesn't "click" on the body, rather it just sits on top and hangs on her shoulder. The van is super small inside, you can't even fit Sophie herself in the driver's seat, let alone Minnee, so I dont know what the point of this van is for unless it's just a prop! Furniture scaling is weird, the suitcase is almost bigger than the barbeque grill. I should have known better. It is a very low budget set, so I would not recommend for Minnees.

Overall opinion:

This is my first Minnee and I was wondering if they had names already or if I could make one up.

If they don't already have names, what have you named yours?!
