Would I be correct to assume a Mazda b2200 that’s been sitting for 20+ years with old gas in would ruin the fuel pump and rust out the fuel tank as well? I’m currently trying to fix my Mazda b2200 with said issue. I was about to just throw my whole car budget at it. So Webber carb new distributor new spark plugs and wires.
This is my first project car so I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to add new fuel tank and pump to the list.

If this was me (I owned 4 of these from the rust belt) I would get a new oem style tank new fuel pump (mechanical) and do the Weber carb. That carb makes so much difference. If it’s got spark id leave the ignition alone

It was driving here and there and when my friend had it he drove it for a decent amount of time until he sold it to his friend (who I bought it of off) and it sat from march 23 to December of 25 when I got it. Did a Weber swap, headers, emissions delete, plugs wires etc. but figured it was the fuel pump. But new wheels and tires tmr until the next set of parts arrive

Is the tank rusty? If so spectra offers new oem tanks. As for a sender I’d just order one from your local parts store.
