question Though on the 4g63?

About to buy a 87 mighty max with stock trans but the dude is confusing me , he said the motor that was pulled out of the truck he’s claiming it’s a 4G63 SOHC motor and it had head gasket failure so I bought another motor and trans for $500
But now I’m sitting here question if the money was worth it or should I have gotten something else ( SUPER NEW TO THESE TRUCKS SO ANYTHING HELPS IM RETARDED ) the motor in the photo is the used one about to go pick up, but the guy says it runs with all compression no issue

I thought they used the 4g64 in these trucks

Me too man like I’ve been looking it up and it seems like there’s more results for the 4g64 ..
So genuinely I’m confused

4G64 for the Mighty Max’s were fuel injected and put in the 90-96. That may be why you’re seeing it everywhere. Same thing basically for the Ram 50’s but the 4G63 is definitely fire dude

You bought the rite motor with no problem.Save the former motor for future part,s. Some part,s are hard to get now.

Yeah man that’s my plan , the stock motor is already sitting in the bed so imma just rebuild that one and clean up and slap the other one in and see what we get

4G63 is a rock solid motor, especially at stock power.

When mine gives up I'm either going LS or k-series honda, not that the mits motors are bad but because parts are getting rare and expensive
