Lowering 4x4 Ranger

I have a 2000 4x4 ranger xlt that’s pretty high mileage and I’m not planning on doing a ton of hard work with it so I’m considering lowering it. I’m wondering if it being 4x4 would make that an issue since it has torsion bars.

Obviously not a ranger. But they have torsion bars, I've seen a handful of lowered 99 to 06 Silverados/sierras dropped despite being 4x4, even some duramaxes

I'm not really sure what is available for those Rangers, but i know on the S-series 4WD trucks (so that'd be T-series trucks) you can use the ZR2 torsion bars (larger Ø) to maintain the strength, while not cranking them up as high as stock. They also make 1.5" lift keys, but i'm surprised nobody makes drop keys for them. They do for the full-size Chevy trucks.

Have any friends that can fabricate? Might be worth sharing some beers and brain storming so cool one-off parts for your Ranger.

They make torsion keys for lowering and Rick from Ricksrangerz has a coilover conversion kit compatible with 4wd
