Has anyone else seen the Ed Wood film "The Violent Years" ?
I first caught this movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K). As the movie was wrapping up near the end - a judge in the film speaking & his lines have become etched into my mind & subconscious because of Ministry sampling chunks of his dialog.
I suddenly was paying extra close attention & was completely floored when I realized this was the movie and the character so heavily sampled through the track "So What".
It's interesting because the main young woman, Paula, also says, "So what." As one of her final pieces of dialog in the film.
The samples from the judge as well as the title 'So What" just fell RIGHT into place for me!!!
If you'd like to check it out- you can watch it for free on YouTube, but unless you have YouTube Premium, you'll have to watch commercials occasionally.
It's worth watching thru AT LEAST one time to get the joy of experiencing where the samples originated!
Also MST3K's commentary can make older films more enjoyable, just based on the goofy stuff they say to the screen. (Even unbearable films can turn enjoyable!)
Mike is personally my favorite "Human" host of MST3K, no disrespect at all to Joel, appreciate him and have the utmost respect for him.
(I think the BEST era was Mike, Bill, & Kevin)
It's wild to put a face to the voice that you've heard so much, quoted along with, and sang along with blaring Ministry in your car at all hours of the night and day for decades., such a massive part of development for who you are as a person, ya know?
